Hello everyone. My name is George Richardson aka motorhead aka the scooter doctor llc of orlando FL. I want to let you all know about Scorch. Scooter Racing Championship. I have started this organization to promote scooter racing here in Florida and in the Southeast U.S. this sport certainly isn't for everyone but it's specifically for those who have the desire to race a scooter on a closed circuit. Ever since I first got a scooter in 2007 I've wanted to race it. I was and still am shocked at how few scooter racing leagues there are here in the U.S. but that is changing. There a few running leagues in the west and Jeremy at Enviromoto is doing a lot to get scooter racing going in the midwest. I have taken it upon myself to get a league going here in the Southeast (namely Florida).
I have put together a promotional video and after the video please visit our website scooterracingleague.com where you can get more information about what we are trying to do and how to get involved. I am currently contacting every scooter club in Florida to get a picture and consensus about what most riders think about scooter racing and to see who is interested. Anyone who is interested in racing in Florida can reach me at my contact info on the site and I will check in periodically on this thread to see what 49cc scoot members think. Thank you for your time.

Hey, good to see you around again George. I think what you're doing is great. You did a good job on the video, but my advice would be to remake it using your own original clips as soon as that's possible. I know it's kinda hard to do before you have a race though. lol

Damn! I've never seen scooters ridden so aggressively. Looks like those bad boys are dropping the plastic right onto the tarmac. If you check back in here, George, I suggest you see if you can get a little publicity through Grassroots Motorsports Magazine (website: grassrootsmotorsports.com/) That is down in their territory (FL) and they are big on supporting inexpensive competition motoring (mostly four wheeling, although they do have a motorcycle section in their website). At the very least you could post of your club's activities in the sprockets section of their forum. Link to Sprockets sect. of their forum: grassrootsmotorsports.com/forum/sprockets/page1/

Good talking to you today George. Hope to work with you in the future. Did we miss something Not at all. Matter of fact. It's on it's way. To get Scorch off to the best start I decided not to reinvent the wheel and I sought out Jeremy for advice. Racing ridership is down in semi pro and amateur leagues across the country but NASRA is growing. It's going to be hard for one man to organize a national racing organization like BSSO. Especially since the U.S is so large geographically. Jeremy and I have the same goal, spread the sport and so far this is being fulfilled.

Cool man! Good to hear! Decided to drag race em huh? Yeah, drag race events are very easy to set up compared to road racing. You won't believe what it takes to put on a road race! Setting up a Gymkhana or Auto Cross requires an act of congress! I personally though am hell bent on road racing and I vow to have one within a year from now. But really, I formed this league for all types of scooter racing. I think my video gave everyone the idea that I was going to have road racing exclusively. But... Just wait till I mock up my drag race promo video!

Hello everyone. I did some thinking about my class structures and I consolidated the original 11 classes into 5. I had some fun with this and named each class after a top gun pilot. I wanted to see a wide variety of scooters square off in each class so this is what I came up with. I set up each class based on typical top speed and acceleration characteristics in hope that even in this bracket race the dial in times will be close and that the scooters will leave the line nearly the same time. Tell me what you think? Attachments:
