ordered this today. I was going to use the stock dash over again, but there is such s cluster f*** of wires I thought it better just to start over. By the time I'm done I will have invested what I paid for the scooter into it again. At which point I could've just bought the one I really wanted. Oh well hind site is 20 20. www.motostrano.com/Koso-DB-01R-Speedometer-p/22100140.htm

good write up. I was also thinking about the torque driver and clutch so maybe do everything at one time. I wasnt counting on having to mess with shimming things though. Oh well. I've got some time b4 it's riding season. Picked up my flat blk paint today also. I ordered in some green powder to coat the wheels at work as well.

i've wanted footpegs on this thing since day one. So once I measure the frame tube I will order those this week also. I've also bid on a new polini reed block with carbon fiber reeds. It was listed in the wrong section and so far its mine for cheap.
This brings up another question. I have the rearward facing manifold that is long and brings the carb way back to the side of the scoot. If I change the reed block and make a spacer I will have to do some modifications to the intake tube. Does anyone see any issues with this. Or the other option is to use the short intake. I have a new one of those as well. I just wasnt sure about all of the cables and hoses.

Short intake hangs the carb fwd and left, airbox resides there too..The long runner style has more clearance and allows other airbox options..A larger one can be fabbed for big carbs too,the choice is yours!!

if I dont make a spacer it will work as is. If I make a reed block spacer it will hit the cross brace that runs right above it.

well the majority of the paint work is done. I still have a few things to finish up though. The headlight will be in tomorrow and that needs paint. Everyone at work says it looks like a snake or crocodile. Kinda excited to see it together. Will be awhile though.

i got the foot pegs mocked up and the initial mounts in place. I made some solid stainless ones at work for it. Kinda hard to guess on the length without the plastics on but either way I wil make it work. The only thing left to finish painting at this time is the headlight and its about 75% complete. I will post up some pics of stuff here in a few. Oh yeah I did buy the reed cage and Im waiting on the guage to get here so I can fab the mounting bkt's for that and the headlight at the same time.

Here's how I did the paint btw.
I applied gloss blk enamel paint in 2 heavy coats. On the second coat while the paint is still tacky I applied the oil based flourescent green over the top in a single very heavy coat. After 10 minutes the oils in the paint interact and the top coat begins to crack and peel. 72 hrs later and the paint is cracked and dulled. 3 heavy coats of clear and this is what you end up with.

I was thinking you might have done something like that, but wasn't sure exactly how. I've had paint do something sorta like that to me unintentionally. Looks really good here though. The fade you did on one side of those panels is very nice work. Gonna look kickass.
