When I had my scoot, I changed both engine and gear oil every 300-600 miles, and cleaned the air filter at the same time. LOL
Man, I babied that scoot like crazy.
Then again, I change my motorcycle oil with full synthetic every 1500 miles. So, I baby that thing, too. But Repsol is expensive stuff! Even working at the shop and the fact that my bike only takes 1.5L, an oil change still costs me $40. LOL

i cant do that with my bikes - i'd be changing the oil every month lol. in summer i do a lot of miles, spend average 4-600 a month on petrol just for the bikes... both my honda 1000s have just had fresh oil & filters and theyll probably get fresh 2-3 times in the year depending on use. first thing i notice when the oil is on it's way out is the clutch starts to slip over 7k rpm...
on the 4t baotian ped, i top the oil every time it gets refuelled as it burns a bit.... not excessively, but just enough to make sure i never need to do a change lol!
gear oil - i really dont think its necessary to be anal over oil changes, as long as its not left for years. easy to do on the baotian gy6 as it has a drain plug, but the pug doesnt so it means breaking the gasket to change the oil.
