Unfortunately a 2 cycle exhaust is where your power is made and not a place where it is wise to "cheap out".
Of the two pipes you linked to I would buy the V-8, but in reality I would buy neither, here is why:
1) the first pipe is a "no name" chamber appearing pipe. The construction is not cut and weld cones, but pressed cones (1/2 cones) crimp sealed down the sides. Not a good construction method, they rust (at the seams) and just don't work well. We have had members buy no-name pipes and actually lose performance.
2) The V-8 pipe is a known quantity. It has a makers name on it with a reputation to defend, so it offers quality and consistency. These pipes work best in a low rev situation, with an engine built to deliver it's power around 6500rpm, too low for most, though maybe ok for you.
Unfortunately when buying a pipe it is hard to justify the damn cost. I too hate to shell out $200+ to get something "decent", and not really appearing too different than the $85 "special", but consider this your warning: you gets what you pay for in a 2 cycle pipe. The safe choice is a Leo Vince ZX, a Stage 6 race replica, a Yasuni R.
The "safe" choice is to assemble your engine, check it's timing to determine it's operating RPM (where it is going to make it's power) and buy a pipe to suit.

Everything reveeen said is good advice. I'd definitely take the V8 over the other option you showed. I can't recall anyone ever having great experience with that one. I own a V8 and it would not be my choice for a 70cc. Only place I see it having a really good home is a big 90-100cc with mild port timing to make big torque. If you want something stealthy that can still make good power, I like the Leo Vince SP3. I own that too, fits and works well for me on both a 70 and 90cc. If you don't care about stealthy, you can get more power usually. A lot of this depends what cylinder and what RPM you are gonna be making your power at. Leo Vince stuff tends to be the easiest to come by at good prices. Not the best, but not bad. I'll put a couple of links below that may be of interest to you... Exhaust database. Might give you some idea of what would suit your application a little better. 49ccscoot.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=exhausted&action=display&thread=1391&page=1Project 90. It's a low revving 90, but you can see the V8 and SP3 here (and others) and hear sound clips and some info. 49ccscoot.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=yamajog&action=display&thread=1712&page=1

The best "deal" is look for a used pipe of known quality, spend a little time cleaning it up and enjoy it! :thumb:

I've found a Leo Vince ZX, TT, and GP on sale for about the same price the others would have been with shipping. I'm thinking about going TT or GP as I only have a generic 75cc kit and I'm trying to build on a budget. Not looking for highest top speed, just the ability to keep up in traffic without people trying to run me over.
Thanks for the help guys!

well dont waste your money on the gp there has been very poor results with it on 70 cc kits
i have the zx and i love it its a great all around pipe and if you do more upgrades in the future it will support them better then the tt
with a 70 kit you are at the very limits of the tt the zx can be used with very mild sport builds to even mid race builds

Slightly off topic. What is a good premix ratio for a 70cc kit? Should I keep it at 32:1? Thanks!

It depends what you are using for oil.
Dino oil I wouldn't go much leaner than 20:1.
Synthetic I would break-in @32:1 leaning out to around 40:1 after 1000.

most of the sport kits you will be just fine at 40 to 1 (the stock injection ratio) its not till you get into the higher reving kits that you have to go to 32 to 1

The ZX is $20 more and well worth the $20.
You can't really tell if an exhaust is going to fit by looking at the pictures. The difference between a "horizontal minarelli" and a Zuma is there is some relieving of the pipe on the backside to clear the stand, which won't bother you one bit, unless you take exception at the denting.
