i got a Minarelli 50cc stock motor with stock rollers. im a little confused on how rollers work still is it the heavier they are, then you will have a higher top speed but slow off the line? and what kind of easy upgrades could i do to my motor?? and for some reason the moped doesnt go any faster than like 40mph like it would be reving but the speed wont increase i already cut the green restricter wires is there anything else i can do? thanks!!

What is the make/model of your SCOOTER not moped☺
Most won't go any faster with out mods. There are some exceptions though.

Inside your transmission there are 3 tuning elements: 1) clutch springs The stiffness of your clutch springs determine the rpm your clutch engages. When you install an aftermarket exhaust, or otherwise modify your motor, you change the rpm that power is made at. Tuning your clutch springs can hold off clutch engagement until you are making power. 2) take up pulley (rear) spring You will find that as you coax more power out of your engine your belt tends to slip, as evidenced by black marks on the pulley surfaces. To prevent your belt slipping you install a heavier spring in the middle of the take-up pulley to slow/prevent belt slippage. 3) roller/slider weight The weight of your rollers/sliders determines the speed at which your transmission up shifts. The "ideal" here is to maintain your engine rpm within your powerband (and keep your transmission in low until your clutch engages). Transmission tuning requires you start at the top of this list and work your way down through the list. As your bike shipped it probably has some fairly heavy rollers in it (to maximize fuel mileage). You will not gain anything by increasing the weight of your existing rollers, your transmission is already making it's full range of travel..... you can check this by removing the cover and seeing where the belt has been running on your pulleys. As to why it won't go faster..... could be geared wrong, maybe it plain and simple does not make enough power to pull itself faster?

no rollers will not change your top speed unless they are way out of wack
if they are too light you will rev to the moon and your varatior wont fully close
to heavy and your varaitor will close too fast and you will bog
and if you are doing a true 40 mph bone stock that is about right for a derestricted scoot
