does anyone use "slime" anti-flat goop in your scoot tires? was thinking of trying it and want opinions before i do. also, will adhesive backed velcro hold a bike speedo magnet to the rim, or will it fly off? thanx!

i wouldnt trust velcro i epoxied mine on to the rim
think about the mess you will have to clean up when you change you tire if you put that crap in your tire and if you dont do your tires chances are the shop that does them will charge you extra to clean that crap out and clean up the mess that is made when they change your tire

I use JB Weld for my wheel magnets. I also wouldn't trust velcro.

I use slime in my scoot tires. I have changed tires after running slime in them and it just wipes clean from the rim. Jmk, are you sure your not thinking of "Fixaflat"? Now that stuff causes a nasty mess! Like spraying foam insulation in your tire. I use a wire wheel on my drill to clean that stuff off. The green slime though, it is clean and works good IMO! I had a very slow leak in my rear tire on my Cobra. I couldnt find the leak and got tired of checking, filling my tire every other weak or so. I put some slime in it last spring and havent had to re-fill it yet. I dont use much of it. Less than half of the smallest "small tire size" bottle they have. Works great for me!

I used slime in my old trial bike for off road trial riding. one day i ripped the tyre and tube, my god what a mess. It was all over the tyre, wheel, bike everywhere. It made such a mess i was covered and had to use some dry grass to try and clean everything up when i changed the tube. Never used it since.Might be OK on the road, i think i was unlucky as it was a rip not a punture.

the only place i have used slime is in lawn tractor tires and it was a mess to clean out when they started leaking so bad that i put tubes in them

This stuff is better than slime, way better. It's called "RideOn." Here's the website about the product: www.ride-on.com/motorcycles.htmlAnd here are a few videos that demo how epic it is: It's like Slime, but without the mess and way more reliable and balances your tire, etc., etc.

Heard of Ride-On many times, never looked into it. I just assumed it made a mess like slime. Reminds me of these... www.rhinotire.com/

That seems pretty cool. But I can't seem to get on to the website at www.ride-on.comIt seems pretty inexpensive at Amazon, though ($13.49 + $7.00 shipping).

I use JB weld for the magnet as well, and even that has flown off once! I think it was my fault though, as I didn't mix the hardener into the resin well enough.

All have to try that stuff next time i have a super slow leak lj, thanks for sharing.
As far as my experiences with slime it was way less messy than fixaflat. There was only some green liquid in the tire that needed wiped out. I dont use very much though, never do. I only used less than half their smallest size on my Cobra tire. I dont really like using this type stuff at all but when the leak is sooo slow and nomatter the tire pressure or amount of soapy water i sprayed could find the leak, i went ahead and tried it with luck. As far as the mower tires, ide fill the whole thing with foam.
