Im a N00b about this DIY stuff on my scoot, and just today after having it 9 months, and 9 FRUSTRATION!! Because the slip of paper I got with my Chinese scoot said it was a GY6 and for the longest time, I'd search out information on that engine to no avail. Nothing looked the same as any other taotao engine. only to find out that I have a taotao 50cc qmb139 CY50C. NOT a GY6. Imagine the headpounding Ive been doing! So does anyone else here have the same engine as I do? Because I cant seem to see any help online about it and it's making me :swear: CARAZY!!!! I'd appreciate any and all input!!!!! Thank you all SO much!! TheRidge

Okay, maybe it wasnt a qmb139. One of the youtube vids i watched, described it as such. So I guess i have a 50cc CY50B taotao. Does ANYONE know of this kind of engine? Because the YouTube vid guy worked on the engine and it FINALLY looked like the engine I work on. Still BANGING MY HEAD!!! TheRidge 8\

I would betcha a $100 you have a 139QMB and the model of the scooter is a CY50B. Does your engine look like this? If so then it's a 139QMB GY6 clone. Stock versions are usually 49.7cc's but some are coming to the us as 60cc motors. The GY6 was a Honda design that was discontinued back in the 80's and the Chinese got a license to "clone" it a while later and they have been pumping them out ever since. Google it or look on Wikipedia "GY6"

When searching for information/parts specify the "139qmb GY6",not just the GY6, as there are different sized engines that are also GY6, ...as in the 150cc is a 157QMJ GY6. The GY6 engines are also common in ATV's.

Goosey hit the nail right on the head with that post. When searching via ebay, google, anything and this is the result you will have.

QMB139 or 139QMB = GY6 50 In your case though, this is what you need to search for when buying parts ;D

HAHA, well I DO live in Vegas, however, I dont drink OR gamble in the land of free drinks and gaming in grocery stores LOL, I'd send ya that 100 bux, Because Yes, I did look almost exactly like that! The HUGE problem Im having now is when I look at vids of supposed GY6;s or 139qmb examples of cleaning a carburretor, they make it look like a walk in the park about unscrewing 4 screws to get to the bowl, and mine is different. It's got 4 screws because I can see the threads underneath, but the tops are like they are ground off to make them flush with the carb making it impossible to even GET to the inside of the dang thing!! The poor thing looks like someone put a stick of dynamite under the seat and ran away!! Im going crazy here!! ANY help is appreciated!! Thank you for all your posts. Most of them have been helpful in the most part. Im just SUCH a n00b and I WANT TO LEARN THIS!!!! so, Thanks from the heart of my bottom, TheRidge
