I've already posted here about this seller's marginal product:
cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=370543334903
I thought I would ask some of your opinions about it. It will keep the ring from rotating but just barely. The pin almost wants to hang on the corners of the pin kerf at the ends of the ring. I have eMailed the vendor about another piston but probably won't hear from him for a day of two.
Showing the extent to which the locater pin is actually within the first ring groove. New piston on rt.
Showing a greater involvement of the locater pin in the second ring grooves. Full pin dia. is difficult to see in the new piston.
Showing that the pin does extend barely enough into the groove to prevent the ring from resting beside it.
New rings placed transverse to bore to show identical cutouts despite upper locater pin being of smaller dia. Also note identical tiny kerfs at the corners of each piston skirt cutout. This exists on the opposite sides as well proving same supplier for both pistons. Paper denotes ring mfg (Riken).

I sent him this email on Sat. Mar. 3:
Dear chopchop*123,
I just received the Honda Dio std. 39mm piston from you today. Upon inspection of the part I noted that the piston pin locater in the top ring groove was mis-located and is not even within the groove rendering it useless to prevent ring rotation and subsequent breakage from the end gaps working their way into the exhaust port area. I would like to return it for a properly machined and inspected piston.
I would appreciate you resolution of this quality issue. I always leave positive feedback for vendors that work with me in a timely and fair manner.
Best Regards,

After getting no response for a week and two days I left neutral fb to this effect:
"What will be seller's petty excuse for not answering item quality question?"
and his response to this was:

Sent you a response on the 13th. I have the e-mail in my item sent folder.
Did you catch that? He said he responded on the 13th but post date was on the 12th.
Here is his response:
Dear slidish,
I responded back to you on the 13th. It is in my sent item folder. Here is a copy of the e-mail.
Dear slidish,
You can return and I will refund your money. Make sure to put your user name inside when you return it so I know who to refund the money to.
I have been using this maker since 1998 and never had any problems with these piston kits. I will def inspect the kit when it is returned.
No worries when you deal with me you deal with a very good seller.

And I, in turn responded with this:
Dear chopchop*123,
Your BS astounds me. The 13th isn't until tomorrow. Forget having any more of my business. I will now tell a 2500 member scooter forum about how you do business.
- slidish
And there you have it.
I will attempt to use the piston and hope for the best. I hate being ignored. Sellers are supposed to respond within two business days.
This guy might be okay but he needs to respond to his customer's concerns in a timely manner.
And thus I have fulfilled my promise to chopshop*123.
I got this piston for about $28 but it seems flawed to me .
