CVT AssemblyThis is a Minarelli/Jog two-stroke, but some aspects are similar on other engine platforms. I put a little grease on the primary shaft. Also put a bit of grease on the bearing inside the pulley, and slide it back on. Put the clutch bell on and tighten the nut. You can hold the bell with an oil filter wrench, strap wrench, or other device. Install the thrust washer. Grease the needle bearing and slide it on. Reinstall the start gear. Reinstall the idle gear and bracket. Install the starter clutch. You may find it easier to install the clutch on the starter gear and then slide both on the crankshaft as a unit. I put my new 4 gram roller weights in the new variator, and slid the rear cover into place. Make sure the plastic dampers are in good shape. Holding the pulley half and rear plate together to be sure the rollers stay in place, I slid the assembly onto the crank. Then I inserted the collar into the variator and slipped the belt over it. Next, I slid the variator fan and washer onto the splines. The belt may need to be moved a little to get it all the way on. Now I put the kickstart pawl onto the splines. Then the washer and nut are installed and tightened.
