So, I was having problems with my battery being dead...is charge it and start the scoot...id get to work, when is go to leave the battery is dead....battery is new (new-ish) and it should be ok...so I figure its the regulator...cool, ordered a new one but my friend has a scrap mini chopper that had a VR lookin like the one I need...so I try it, go around the neighborhood...come home and my stator side fan ports are bellowing smoke...dang...caught the stator coil on fire...so THAT was a dumb idea...

So more to the point, I had an extra stator...I got the old one out, and just put the new(used) stator back in the same way...as long as the woodruff is un the same place, I shouldn't have to time it.....right?

the pickup runs off the flywheel....and i assume you did not change the flywheel...as long as you are using the same flywheel all should be fine.
