Installed a 50mm bbk with the stock head it stated up idled an i When for a test run an I ran a wopping. 30mph slower than stock. Should I buy a matching 50mm head for Scrappydogscooters or a hoca 50mm head !!! Also what should the compression read With the bbk an stock head on? What is concider high compression an what is low compression?

I had a 72cc on the scoot a week earlier an it ran perfect . But I want more so I order Scrappydogscooters 100cc kit or 50mm bbk I installed It an I ran slower than stock scoot.. When I do a compression test what should be a good safe number with my set up I have on 50mm with stock head??? An what number is to high were u lose HP!

190 is optimal
sounds like timing might be off

@ peteyparado, I am in the same boat as you. I started w/ a Shwinn scoot w/ restrictor in the var. and intake breather. I put a 83 kit and can not get it to run fast. (63cc ToaToa bet me) Switched var., carb (92jet), CDI,belt, 160 comp. roller from 4 to 7grms.

to dude... did you ever fix the problem,u try putting a matching size head on?
to 1fastqmb the timing is spot on.. tdc an valves close,cam dots all lined up... im trying to find a compression tester dat fits the spark plug size.. i'll post the compression when i get it..

Still same trouble I even thought it was the exhaust, swithed exhaust same thing. My comp. is #160 no smoke no blowby. 92 jet plug looks good. Maybe to small of a vavles?? What size vavles are in the 50mm heads??

to dude... did you ever fix the problem,u try putting a matching size head on? to 1fastqmb the timing is spot on.. tdc an valves close,cam dots all lined up... im trying to find a compression tester dat fits the spark plug size.. i'll post the compression when i get it.. both the forum owner and myself have had flywheels that had the timing mark or keyway in the wrong place so you cannot always go by the 'T' mark as being true TDC you would have to pull the head off to really be 100% sure...if you didnt verify the make before you put it back together.

What size vavles are in the 50mm heads?? Mine are stock valve size..16mm and 18mm i believe it is.

I split the case installed a new crank. Half assed looked at the T mark it was there close but the piston was a little low just guessing less than 1/2 mmfrom the top. ( i do look for top dead center on piston hieght) I changed a lot of stuff around and its still slow, It needed rebuildt when I bought I am ready to to put a stock bore on it.

I did have 2 motors and changed the stator from one motor to the other. But I am not sure which flywheel i used.

to dude- i ordered the 50mm hoca head from parts for scooters.com intake valve is 21.5mm exhaust is 18.9mm.. i have a few friends with it an they like it alot... an the price ain't bad..
1fast- i took it apart a few times an the mark r good piston is at the highest point!!!! at what point do you think i would lose power compression wise what would be the highest psi i could run safely... wan what would b to low?
an by the way guys thanks for all the help i really want my scoot to b running already....
