I plan on installing LED rear turn signals and front LED bulbs and using this relay for the flasher. I was wondering if the wiring for the stock relay is the same and do i just remove and plug them on to the new relay. I have the Tao Tao CY50 T-3. Any help would be appreciated. Attachments:

:welcome: to the forum. I'm not sure about your specific model. Wiring varies from scoot to scoot. The most common stock flashers that I've seen are the 2 prong versions of what you have and a 3 wire type with a different connector style. If you have the 2 prong that looks like your pic basically, they you'd just need to add a ground to the other prong I believe. If you've got the 3 wire that uses a different style of connector you might have to make your own adapter. Could use female quick connect terminals to go over the prongs or you might be able to pick up a connector at a local parts store or online that fits the new flasher.

I love the LED bulbs, definitely made a difference, but I didn't have to change my flasher relay, that was a surprise... I think the turn signal bulbs in my Dash panel are providing the load needed to operate my flasher relay properly..
Now if I should change them to LED then I'm pretty sure I would have to change the flasher relay too.. I'm not sure of your wiring either but you may not have to change that relay, if your wiring is similar to mine and you don't change the dash lights..

full led turn signals bulbs front and back on the yellow one in my avatar...no relay..stock flasher. dash indicator doesnt work though. The dash indicator uses the light filament of the unused side for its ground. If you've use LEDs it can't ground properly. The modification, put simply, is to add some diodes to the power side and supply a ground to the dash bulb.

Can you wire your dash panel turn signals in parallel to your LED turn signals ? And change to a LED flasher relay ?

there is only one turn signal indicator for both sides on they yellow bike....its wired so that the hot wires from each side go to it...and it uses the other sides bulb filament as a ground path.

In my case of having just one dash indicator for both sides.....instead of putting diodes in the wires then trying to figure out some way to ground the bulb....seems to me a relay for the dash indicator would be better. Some sort of 4 prong relay i guess? hot left, hot right, hot to the dash indicator and ground....then rewire the plug for the dash indicator for hot and ground.
I dont even look at the dash for the turn signals anymore...i have gotten so used to pushing the button to turn them off i push it going straight down the road...as many of you do too I am sure. I just like everything to work.
sorry to hijack your thread countryscoot
