The 'plunger' on the cam chain tensioner.....on the motor i mentioned above when putting it together it never 'clicked' down at all. Just putting it in made the runners the chain guides tight enough. Another motor I built i had to remove the spring because the chain was so damn tight the tensioner housing would not go all the way down onto the case tight. The spring has to push the plunger down at least one click or there is not enough room for the damn spring..so then the little spring retainer bolt wont seal..or the body of the tensioner assembly itself wont seal..and oil will leak like mad. With the spring out there was juuust enough for it to all seat down..
