For a while now after a ride my carb has been leaking petrol out of the overflow pipe after i turn it off, for a few min. I have had the carb apart twice it looks ok. It runs fine. I tried sucking on the vacume pipe and petrol comes out but im not sure how quickly it should stop after i stop sucking. Also it takes ages to start sometimes even if you used it a couple of hours ago, will. turn over for a good 2-3 min to start. Do you think it could be the fuel Petcock? Any Ideas welcome.

sounds like the petcock is going bad and also sounds like you have etiher a bad float needle or float needle seat that is allowing it to leak
the float needle should not allow fuel past

Ive had em do that. Tried fixing one by changing out everything including the needle and seat in the 19mm Dello. The guy just shuts the fuel off via valve now. It never quit. Heres a thought though.. What if the fuel cap wasnt venting? I mean what if pressure in the tank is building up and pushing the fuel out of the carb?
