i just got a scoot has a 72cc bbk 20mm carb 88main 32 idle jet hot coil aftermarket cdi.. scoot starts but it wont hold idle till its warmed up 160-170 degrees than it idles fine 1700rpms 2100rpms.. but when its cold or if it sit for a while after you run it no idle you have to hold the throttle till it idle it self....
i change main jets went bigger smaller still the same.. could it b the enricher -auto-choke..

assuming your valves and carb are adjusted right....probably a choke issue yeah

valve are good at .004 carb is tuned.. is there a way to block off the auto-choke or the carb needs it to work?
an the air-fuel mix screw does that only effect idle or top end an take off too...

how can i check if the auto-coke is working. just put a 12v to the plug?

its that black enrichener that has the wire that plugs to the scooter two pin plug.

sounds like auto choke...(enricher)

take the choke off the bike and put 12v to it..it should slowly pull the plunger in....and also make sure the hot wire going to the choke has voltage. it runs of the light circuit..or should be.

Hi Pete,
I have to agree more than likely it's the enrichner, but i have seen the enrichner port in the carb become plugged and cause the same symptoms.. If you find your enrichner is working fine, then the carb may need cleaning...

ok i check the enrichener an it works. but it takes about 5mins to move.. how long does usually take!!!
could it a to small idle jet...i got a 32 now

32 is about right....chokes take 1-5 mins they vary. i would verify compression, verify valve adjustment and if compression is good do a through carb cleaning.
