Carb issue

i am outside and trying to fix the carb problems ive been having and i think i narrowed it down to the intake to the engine that hose. when i try to start it i hear a hissing sound coming from there and when i push on it the hissing stops. so im assuming that the hose bracket is shitting and upon taking it off it is it was all bend and not circular. the problem i am having is that the nuts on it are bigger than 3/8 but smaller than 7/16 so what should i use

I'm not sure exactly what you're talking about. I think you mean the nuts holding on the intake manifold? At any rate...

3/8" = 9.53mm
7/16" = 11.11mm

Everything on these is metric, so 10mm. That would be the size across the nut, or the socket/wrench you use. If you are talking about the actual thread of the bolt, it's probably an M6 x 1.0.

yep i learned how to convert standard to metric today...lol...and yes thats what i was talking about and i did fix the issue the cheap ring that tightens the manifold hose onto the carb had an extra peice of metal on it preventing it from being tightend any further so i cut it off and tightend it real good and it runs alot better without any hissing... about to drill out the brass plug to adjust the idle..wish me luck as if i know what im doing..lmao

one more question lol when i try to take the carb off i noticed that 1. one of the screws to the auto enricher is just about stripped and 2. 1 of the lines is kinda hard to pull off and im afraid it might be hard to put back on also lol. are they usually pretty easy to put back on?

if a fuel line or vaccum line has gotten hard and is very hard to pull off
its time to replace it

i got my carb runnign great now just needed a small adjustment and decided while i was out there i was gonna mod my exhaust..lol...
