A 30 y/o man drove his scoot into a concrete train trestle support less than a mile from my house friday....and was killed. No witnesses but he may have been trying to avoid a car..its a little 2 lane place and the concrete is like...right there. Be safe out there my friends....and Happy Easter.

This just sucks man!!!!!! The real tragedy IMO is that nobody will ever know what really happened....... Just another statistic !!?? Was he ran off the road/ Drunk/ Going to fast/ Mechanical malfunction/ avoiding traffic etc...... Sad news indeed my friend and obviously a bit to "close for home" Thank you for making an effort. I do hope you find out the true story of the mans death. Did they release his name? ?

I do hope that he was having a joyous day up to his moment of tragedy and that he did not suffer long. Peace and fare-thee-well EJK.

I do hope that he was having a joyous day up to his moment of tragedy and that he did not suffer long. Peace and fare-thee-well EJK. I dont know about that day...but i just heard he was having a good night at a local bar. The person I just talked to said he left the bar at 11pm and the rider above was still there. The wreck apparently happened between 2am and 4am. It was raining that night and it does tend to flood under that trestle. Hitting standing water and losing control seems to be the consensus....and alcohol was apparently involved...maybe I shouldnt even mention that since I dont know for sure. He was found at about 4am by a mail carrier. Seems to me the media would report if alcohol was a factor. One thing is for sure....be careful in rain if you get caught in it.

I Looked at that photo of the overpass and I don't believe the scooterist hit the concrete to avoid a car- UNLESS there was a car way over the white line swerving across lanes or something. The concrete supports look to be almost four feet away from the edge of the road! It's possible a deer jumped out and startled him and he swerved right, or he may even have fallen asleep and drifted over.
