I've started a new project since my drag scoot is almost to the point of completion. I've got this frame that I think is a CPI moskito skeleton but I'm not sure, all I know is that its a 2t frame thats about 1/2 if not 1/3 of the weight of a 150cc 4t frame. And I've also got a 150cc motor thats wanting to go into something, I can hear it calling out to be used in something. :lol2: So I've decided its time to mate the 2t frame with a 150cc motor and see what I get. I've started to mock it into place and it measures out about 3-4 inches longer than a stock longcase minarelli, so even though it will mount in the same mounts it appears to have a 3-4 inch stretch. Here are a few of the mock up pics, I haven't got very far yet but it'll get there. As you can see I've still got the 13" wheels to put on it as well, and I'm gonna try to put the triple trees off the tank frame and put on here so I can have front brakes. I'm gonna take the wiring harness off the old tank frame and customize it to fit my needs and put the plastics on it from a triton that I'm buying from Reign. I'll keep you up to date as it progresses but right now Franknstein is at the top of the priority list so its ready for racing.

I think it's gonna be a great looking ride when it's finished. I know you do good work and I like the longer engine instead of stretch brackets. You get a stretched scoot without the engine starting to look like a tow-behind as some do.

I was out in the garage this evening checking a few things on here and I don't believe the triple trees are gonna fit. I think I'm gonna try cutting the whole tube off the tank frame and weld it on the lighter frame, I'll do a thorough measurement and test fit before I start cutting anything.

Make up a jig out of 2X4's and plywood to hold everything inline before welding..Can the triple tree stem be swapped out easier??

I've still got the trees from the Eton out there that I'll look at after work John. I thought about that also, but doing that kind of welding I'd have done by a professional. I think it would be safer to swap out the tube and put a frame brace on it as added support though.

I was out in the garage looking at the 2 frames side by side and got to thinking about cutting the up tube off the 150 frame just above the vin # and right next to the steering tube on the 2t frame and either slide the 150 tube over the 2t frame tube or weld them with a slider tube inside them both. Either way I go it'll be welded and a brace installed for extra strength and support.

I changed my mind about the tree swap when I went to pull the stem out of the tank frame and discovered that the threads on it were almost nonexistent, it pretty much fell off when I pulled the handle bars off of it. So I've decided to go with John's idea and swap just the stems. After I ground down the welds and cut a 3/4" chunk of the cast iron (part where the forks mount) out I figured the stem would come out some what simple because that should've relieved the pressure of being pressed in, WRONG. I had to cut it the same width as the stem to get it out, then I just cut the stem of the tank off at the base. Now I've gotta sit with the dremel and get whats left of the tank stem wallered out closer to the diameter of the Eton stem so I can get them pressed together and welded. Its a good thing I'm not trying to get this ready for race season. I'll get some pics up when my camera starts working correctly again.

I bought a 2t Mina case at TnG with rear disk brakes, 13" wheels, and both front and rear complete brake assemblies.I believe I'm gonna put that setup on this with a bbk instead of the 150 4t. And if I fit most of the wiring under the seat I'm gonna run this as a naked scoot. I've also been thinking about doing a 4-6" stretch on it also.
