I have just started taking my engine to pieces to install performance gear which will arrive tomorrow. The cam chain tensioner has worn down on the cam chain because the top cam chain guide has worn to pieces. I easily removed the bottom guide but I cant get the top one out, and it seems it is stuck in some kind of grove. It doesnt matter whether I push or pull, twist or bend it it just wont move. Does anyone have any advice on how to remove it?
Cheers Brad

Brad the tension guide fits into a slot that you can remove when you remove the cylinder. This is the one the tensioner spring presses against. The tensioning plate, the other guide, ain't so easy. You'll have to split the crankcase to replace that.

Argh you have to be frickin kidding me. Oh well at least I can change the cam chain too then. Any hints on how to split it without the tool and without hitting the crank with a big hammer?

Its also not like that on my one. The tensioning spring presses against the guide which is set into the crankcase

I never did any how-tos on splitting the cases on the 4Ts. I've never done a 150 anyway, just 50s. If the 150 is the same, there's no splitter/puller needed, just unbolt it and the cases will come apart.

Got it sorted. IF you remove the cvt cover, then remove the variator there is an allen key bolt, and if you undo that then you can remove the guide rail and install a new one
