So I got my new brake line today and installed it before going to work today. I didn't have any zip ties to secure it to the frame so I rode it carefully to work and all was fine.
Well on my lunch break I grabbed a zip tie from my office and went out to tie it to the frame so it wont rub the tire anymore. Went I went out there I noticed that some wires next to the electric start were pulled out and the screw below that attacehs the front piece to the headlight piece was broke and the other screw was really lose.
they also broke a chunk of plastic off, I'll prolly post pics when I get home I can't post them from work. Another $40 or so to fix...lol

Seems you have the worst good luck IMO. At least it wasn't stolen and the thief didn't sue for not being able to stop...... (jokin) I really hope you have a better May since April hasn't been so kind. Joking aside, Sounds like someone tried to pull the ignition and kick start it. (Very easy to do) You had it locked up right? IMO your doing everything right just, Karma is not on your side..... It gets better friend!!!!! Forget just riding safe, Cover your Ass!!!!!

CVT Scooters are just too easy to steal. They free wheel everywhere they go instead of being able to be put into park, they are reasonably light to pick up and put in a truck, most aren't titled and have paperwork. They are so small however that since they don't take up much space you can put them anywhere really so I'd bring it in and set it in a back room or even just in the door our of the way. Last resort, put it right in front of the front door by the main window so it can be seen.

Yep, either one badass pistoff bird that hates scooters, or someone tried to steal it!

saw in the news where some kid tried to steal an old mans scoot at gun point, another guy stepped in and was grazed in the leg. Police havent caught the kid yet. It's getting bad.

Hello, y'all. Anything can be stolen. Get your 18v Makita saw out and you can cut through a chain in minutes. So how do you make it a 'harder target'; two chain locks, 3 padlocks, and a guard dog?
-and give up your scoot, not your life!

The entire thing was caught on survailance camera. Just telling everyone there is a scooter thief with a gun out there and he will shoot you for it.

:welcome: Ormond.
I've definitely heard about more armed scooter-jackings than I'd like to happening all over the place. Sometimes I'm very glad to live in the country. Not that it can't happen here, but not too many folks are prowling corn fields in the middle of the night just waiting for a scooter to nab.

There's a black market for scooters? The prices are up on them, and gas prices make them more palatable. With no real title, they are like cash on the street.
Like you 90GTVert, glad I live in the middle of nowhere.
