Opinions differ. I say .003 for the intake and .004 for the exhaust. Loose is better than tight. This style of cam follower have a tendency to tighten up over time.

Well i adjusted them and it was still 58. Found the engine code was a 157QMJ 4stroke.. Going to look at going with a topend kit. Anyone have any suggestions on what kind/brand to get?? or are they all about the same?

Just because the valves are tight doesn't mean that anyone has screwed around with it. It's very common for the valves to tighten up on their own. It's one of the most common things that happens with these engines. 75% of all scooters I work on have tight valves.
You have a 157QMJ GY6 When you search for parts type in "GY6 150________" or "GY6 150 Cylinder head" for example. You can practically buy a scooter in parts off Ebay.

Some of the bolts holding the valve cover on, well they were not bolts at all. Two of them had phillip head screws on them. The top two had two bolts that were too small for the threads and were run all the way through held tight by nuts on the back side. Plus the abundance of red silicone all over everything. Looked like a two year old spread red glue on the springs for some odd reason :stumped: . Would you guys suggest doing a topend kit or just doing gaskets if everything checks out good.

Tore into it, and geez.... never seen so much red silicone. It was on everything. Found the problem to be a blown head gasket in two different spots. Tons of carbon buildup on the valves and head. Going to be getting a kit up and ordered.
Thanks everyone for your help!
