I'm just curious, but how hard would it be to remove that restrictor washer? I seen videos and the stuff on here about doing it. But is it as simple as take the casing off remove the gear remove washer and put back together?
I'm not even sure if I have no just assuming I do..lol and if I do have one and remove it do I need to adjust anything cvt wise or anything else?

i doubt u even have one if it is a newer model. if u do just simply remove the cover and the drive face plate(u will need an impact wrend/drill) pull it off and re asemble. :riding:

I use a wrench hook it at the top next to the clutch and hook to the teeth and use a ratchet to take it off to put back on do the reverse put it below next to the clutch and to the teeth

its too new to have one they dont slow em down like that anymore. they slow the new ones down with tiny jets in a sealed carb, restrictive air filters and flat timing.

another thing i am seeing online is people are sayign that when you remove it you have to change to 100% synth oil and change to an iridium v-noth spark plug. i do need to change my oil cuz i put 10w-30 in it not 10w-40 lol but im gonna do that this week.

Hi Of more importance imho is regular frequent oil changes when you have a 4 stroke engine On my Puma which was a 4t i used 5W30 cold months 10W40 warm and changed it every 250 to 500 miles And iridium plug lasts longer then a standard plug and for me worked slightly better But theres no need to get one if your happy with your present plug Take care and ride safely Yours Hank

yea read online that using 10w 30 when cold is fine thats why i havent really messed with it yet. its been about 300 miles im guessing, without a speedometer its hard to be exact..lol but its time for a change. I ran the factory oil bone dry but caught it before anything bad happened and that is when i put the 10w 30 in it.

Hi You may want to change your gear oil as well if you haven't done so yet as the stock factory oils leave a lot to be desired I use 75W90 and change every 750 to 1,000 miles Take care and ride safely Yours Hank

Regarding the washer in the variator, as they have said, sounds like you don't have it. If you decide to check anyway, you don't need much just to check. Remove the CVT cover and squeeze the rear pulley to open it. Get the belt in toward the center of the rear pulley. Then there should be enough slack that you can get teh belt out of the way up front and simply look in between the two halves of the front pulley. If there's a washer between the drive boss and the outer sheave, that would be the restrictor. If not, you have no restrictor.
