Hi, I looked everywhere but could not find a video guide for de-restricting a QM50QT-6A Chinese scooter, there's only some info for the similar, but newer model - the '9' - and I'm not sure it'll work for mine. Also, do I really have to mess with the CDI, the fuel needle thingy and the air intake? I saw few videos showing similar looking scooters, but I was not sure if it's the same machine so I didn't want to experiment. My scooter is branded as REX RS450 (I'm in Germany), but in its registration documents it's written Jinan Qingqi QM50QT-6A. Here's how it looks: Thanks in advance, greets from Berlin and pls excuse my poor English.

Its a pretty generic bike with lots of different names but they are all considered a 'Sunny QT-3'
How much faster you are going to go depends on how much money you have to spend. No 1 thing you can do to it is gonna make it fly..its several changes that are all related to each other that will make it faster.

I bought it few days ago for only 250EUR, it's 6 years old (2006) and it is restricted to only 45 kph (28 mph) as required by law here, I already tested it few times. Unfortunately some car drivers get very aggressive while driving behind me and I would love it if I could make it run just some 10 to 15 kph (6 to 10 mph) faster. I read some forums stating that the very same model goes without a problem to 70-75 kph (43 - 46 mph) without the restriction, but there was no explanation or a tutorial. I think the same engine is also used in the Peugeot V-Clic, but not sure.

Hi Your most welcome Most are restricted with a spacer/ washer in the variator so it doesn't open all the way, a restriction plate in the exhaust system, and on some a rev limited cdi This video shows a basic setup and how to remove restrictions on a genuine scoot , but the same principles apply to most scoots vimeo.com/2575002 Hope this is of help Take care and ride safely Yours Hank

Do you think I can achieve +6 mph by only removing the spacer and not deal with the exhaust plate?

A larger main jet can deliver a dip more of gas , unrestricted exhaust will have more flow , lighter roller weights will help . Remove yours and weigh them to see what you have and try 2 or 3 grams less . A NGK irdium will fire better than the other spark plugs . A BBK will have more power to play with
