do you know what might have happened to make it not start i.e was it running poorly before you replaced the carb?
or is one of those, it was running fine and now doesnt start...
compression?

my compression tester does not have the tiny fitting to test. it was running good when it busted the drive belt. as soon as i replaced it, it wont start anymore. its been sitting for a few months thus why i changed the carb. it was cheaper than a rebuild. i may just remove the drive belt to see if it starts.

ahhhhhh
did you put the rollers back in right? they get all out of whack when the belt breaks and that will make it hard or no start.

ok peoples. i managed to borrow the adapter needed to do the comp test from work. comp test came back 175psi. this rules out valves, rings, and i believe bearings as well.
anything else i'm missing?

if the belt broke while running...and you did not put the rollers back in place when you put the new belt on..that IS a serious problem if not THE problem. it happens EVERY time. that is the very next thing you need to check before anything else.
if nobody believes me take your variator off, put your rollers in all sideways and put it back together and try to start it.

going to do that later on. going to remove the belt for less restriction on cranking and see if it make a diffrence along with your tip.

I recently bought a cheap no start fixer-upper. Many issues with it, but the biggest issue was a cracked piston. When I went to fire it up with the new top end kit, it would only run on the center stand and the wheel was spinning at idle. Scoot would stall when taking it off the center stand. Since the scoot was stored for a long time, I thought my clutch was frozen. I was really surprised when I took the CVT cover off. The clutch was completely disengaged with the motor off and spinning freely. I took the variator off and at least 3 rollers were in sideways.

just finished messing with the scoot. took the new belt off. i left the rear clutch dead for the time being. i checked the rollers and all other pieces that should be there. i cleaned everything up with break clean, lubed the rollers, and reinstalled it without the belt. put the cover back on and cranked it.
-still a no start.
