just a thought, i can aquire a kx 60 pipe (FMF) for next to nothing and was thinking of mounting on the keeway. 54mm x 44mmstroke with the autotech 8 ports cylinder kit and mounting it wont be a problem. anybody done this or am i stepping into virgin territory?

All 2 cycle exhausts are a compromise. A scooter pipe trades a bit of top end for some bottom end, otherwise you would not pull away too well from a stop without a manual clutch.... a motocross pipe has virtually no bottom end, because the set-up has a clutch you can modulate to get going, you also have a manual gearbox to keep you in the operating rpm of the pipe.
Not to dissuede you, if you are a small light guy, the chances are pretty good you can make this work for you...... but a large guy, on a heavy scooter, would do better with a "scooter pipe".

IF the pipe is cheap enough give it a go. MX pipes have such a narrow power band though and at such high rpm it might be hard to set up for the street.

i know the FMF pipe puts more mid and top on a kx 60(and most other models of motocross bikes ive ridden) so i might just give it a try

I tried this a few years back, never would get on the pipe..Scoot engines have tiny transfers, reeds, and exhaust ports compared to MX stuff, but we'd love to see if it works for you!! :thumb:

I did this with an old nh 80 using an 81 cr 80 pipe , intake and carb. But never got around to tuning it. It was dull off the bottom and mid but once it hit 60 kms it pulled super hard ( for a 20 yo scoot ) up to 80 and that was about as far as it went. Then I sold it.

I would not think a MX pipe would fit a horizontal engine
