I installed the Autotech Aluminum kit last night and tried to break it in today but ran into a pretty major issue (i already chop tuned it so we are not lean).
I can accelerate without any problems but then when i let off the throttle and try to come to a stop the engine dies.. sometimes i can save it by pulsing the throttle, but basicly i need to walk it down to an idle or up to WOT... seems like the whole mid area of my throttle is just gone.
once again i can go WOT to pretty much whatever RPM i want but after the initial WOT it cannot recover and especially if i let off completely it pretty much dies.
could needle position be causing this? or... any other ideas?

Did you install a larger idle and main jet with the BBK ? Hows the fuel filter look ? A 2T or or 4T ?

where is your a/f screw set at you did retune it for the new kit right more then 2 turns less then 1 turn out and you need a diffrent pj the needle shouldnt be playing as it sounds like its when it drops back down to idle
but it could also be a sign that your contra spring is weak and not pushing the sheave back in

contra spring is a koso 1600 rpm bought it last year... so i dont think that could be causing it.
but im not totally sure what you mean with this: "you did retune it for the new kit right more then 2 turns less then 1 turn out and you need a diffrent pj"

did you re adjust the a/f screw for the new kit
if you have it set at more then 2 turns out or less then 1 turn out that means you need a diffrent pilot jet
and where your a/f screw is will tell you what way in and out adjusts your fuel mixture

Check the needle and diaphragm for tears as you may need to raise the needle up

If its softseizing your gonna ruin that kit if you keep running it that way. Im not trying to come off jerky lol. Just saying. Sounds like your running it out on the main, then shutting off the fuel supply to a lean pilot. A hot engine plus too little fuel (coolant)=a softy.
I agree with skuttadawg, raise the needle, lower the clip. Or try a bigger pilot. Even a better carb (best option IMO)

What is the oil/fuel ratio? Premix or oil pump? Could be an oil issue but i am leaning towards leaning.
