just got my carb today. still waiting for the filter and spark pull. I was wondering should i install the carb now and get it running right or wait for the other parts to do it all at once?

its best to have the air filter you are going to use when installing and the carb.

If you tune with a stock filter, it will be lean when you add the UNI.

you dont have to do it like that though really just get a loooong piece of vacuum line from a parts store and stick a cheap fuel filter on the end.

the one on the side of the carb? turning it to the right richens it up. usually turning it all the way in then 2.5 complete revolutions out is good. but where do you live again? they set those at sea level and usually they are good out of the box.
