Installing A Larger BatteryIf you have a Vento Triton, or a similar scooter with the battery mounted in the floorboard, you may not have the best battery for your application. My Triton was suppose to come with a 7L-BS battery, but instead my dealer installed a 4L-BS. I don't know if this is common practice, but I thought the info could benefit someone else here. The 7L-BS is larger and will offer more cold cranking amps (CCA) and a better ampere-hour (Ah, amp-hour) rating than the 4L-BS. More CCA means more cranking power for starting your scooter. The higher Ah rating tells you the battery has more capacity. For more detailed information on battery specifications and features, visit the links below. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Car_battery#Charge_and_dischargewww.yuasabatteries.com/faqs.phpThe 4L-BS and 7L-BS have very similar measurements, mainly the height is different. Both fit pretty well in the Triton and similar scoots. Here are a couple of my batteries together so you can see the difference. Here's a 4L-BS in my battery compartment. It appears to fit well, so it may often be overlooked. Here's a 7L-BS in the same location. It almost looks too tall, but it is not. This is what the scooter was designed for. I should note, 4L-BS and 7L-BS are not always the complete model number of the battery. It could be something like YTX7L-BS or GTX4L-BS etc...

Sunny style scooters, like the TaoTao ATM50-A1, may also be able to fit a larger battery than they come with from the factory. My TaoTao came with a 4L-BS battery, which left a lot of room in the battery compartment. A 7A-BS fit well in the compartment and offered more cranking and reserve power. Here's the larger 7A-BS style battery installed in my ATM50. If you keep the smaller battery, it leaves a lot of room in the battery box for the battery to move around. Not only is a vibrating battery annoying to listen to, but it's not good for the battery. I drilled a couple of holes in the battery compartment to route a heavy duty cable tie through and put rags below and on the edges of the battery where it was secured. I would have preferred a heat/chemical resistant foam, but I actually have rags in the garage.
