i hate keys.

So this might sound strange, but I hate keys...they bend, they get lost, and they usually stay in my scooter...its ugly enough to keep people from theifing it...and besides if they really want it, it can be picked up and put in the trunk of a car...by one person.

So, I'm lookin to eliminate the need for keys, I have a 08 eurospeed and I'm pretty sure I have 4 wires going to the ignition switch...anyone happen to know how to wire around it?

Also, I realize this might sound kind of suspicious. I honestly don't want to steal anything...I just....hate keys lol.

I wired one of mine so it uses regular switches instead of the key switch. I would suggest to anyone doing it to consider hiding a kill switch somewhere out of plain sight as a sort of theft deterrent. I'll PM you with more detail, I prefer not to send what could be twisted around as hot-wiring instructions with a little thought publicly.

If you get an alarm with remote start then you don't need a key. It'll start and shut off with the remote. The bad part about it is if you pocket the remote and the kill button gets pushed in your pocket while you are riding it then the scooter will die.

I had a customer need his lockset replaced because he stuck his remote/key in the pocket of his jacket after he cranked it and drove off...well his only key and only remote blew out of his windbreaker pocket....

this might be to "mission impossible-ish" but would it be too hard or even realistic to take the thumb print scanner on most laptops and use that as kinda a "keyless start" you would have to scan your thumb then use a pushstart button..i have no clue if that would even be a real possiblity but it would cool none the less.

It exists. Paul Jr. made a chopper for F.I.S.T. It has a thumb print reader on the tank. You program a thumbprint in the memory and it will only start with that print. I think they are about $400 They call it a biometric key.

a biometric pad is a bit much for a scoot thats worth more than half what i have in my scooter i think im at like 600 dollars mods included, ebay is a life saver
