well i made the biggest noob mistake there is,i fudged up the threads putting in a new plug!!
First off id like to say this is the best place to get some great addvice from people that really know there scooters. Some advice that could have helped me avoid having to buy a new head, such as something as simple as
Taking a piece of old fuel line and just stick it on the end of the plug to help you align and start the threads into the head, always just start by hand before you start with the socket.
Even if your like me and put many many plugs in cars, boats, whatever, these scooters are very tempermental and you have to take your time
So, Instead of buying a stock one id like to get something that might add a bit more power to it. I'm currently ridding a bran new Taotao 50cc scoot. Just put on a performance cdi/coil and that damm ngk iridium plug!! Also waiting for a new 18mm carb cuz these scoots are known to run very lean and burn up the valves rite from the factory, and thanks to all the regulations and what not, their sealed carbs,non-tamper proof carbs(Which i found out here,i was going crazy looking for adjustments). Its almost like they want you to blow them up!! So word to the wise,if you have one of these ever so popular Chinese scooters,do yourself a favor and spend the 40 bucks and buy an adjustable carb before you blow it up!!,Thank again guys ,and happy ridding to all,be safe, wear a helmet

this is a chinese 82cc kit that i have used in the past with good results. they claim 100cc but there is no true 100cc kit. its 50mm 82cc. anyway its affordable and works good if you install it right. the rings sometimes come gapped too wide so just let them know and they send another set. the valves are stock size 16mm and 18mm. a lighter rider can get 50mph out of this kit with a good carb jetted right and correctly tuned cvt. www.ebay.com/itm/330459445932?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1438.l2649whatever you get make sure the valve length is 64mm because your present head is 64mm meaning your rocker arms and valve cover match it. a 69mm valve head will not work.

and cheapest fix is to take the head to a machine shop and have them drill, tap and put a plug insert in it.

I agree with FAST that I'd either have the head repaired or get a cheap stock replacement or consider doing the whole top end at this point. I haven't looked for a while, but you could prob get a stock head on eBay as cheap as having yours repaired. If you are looking for a performance head, Scrappy sells one too. I have used it and it worked alright with a 50mm BBK for me. www.scrappydogscooters.com/139QMB_50cc_Performance.html

Not that I know of. If you use one of those heads with a larger combustion chamber for larger bores, it's gonna drop compression. Any gains you may get from the head would be negated by the loss of compression or could even perform worse. Big bore is the big gain usually. The heads seem to help a little, but nothing like the larger bore. I'd just stick to a stock replacement or fixing yours if the head is all you want to do.

a 39mm head on a 44mm bore will require additional base gaskets so keep that in mind. 44mm heads are hard to find. your current 44mm head has value and is worth fixing.

well i finaly got the carb today ,put the #88 jet in withe the uni filter, and yepeeee!!39mph on gph. Barely had to mess with the air/fuel mix screw (out a touch) and shes rrunning great,NO MORE BOGGINH AT WOT. As for the plug i screwed up,im going to leave well enough alone and since its an iridum plud, hopefully i never have too change it...lol well see. So no bbk for me ,im happ as a pig in you no what ,almost 40 is flying on this little scoot as far as im concerned. What a differance 10mph makes,i was only getin 30 before with that sealed junk carb. HOWEVER ITS ALWAYS SOMETHING, So i get the scoot home from a nice 30 mile or so ride to the beach today, and the dam thing wont shut off. The key just spins roun and round,ao back to scrappy to order some more parts, atleast i got to have some fun and can se more is on the way, only thing is,now the wief wants one too, think ill try a differant brand after seeing how cheeply made this taotao is,any shugestions around that 1000$ mark. Still want to stay 50cc,thats fast enough for us.
Thanks again you guys for all the great advice, and quick replys,i couldnt ask for a better forum!!! Happy ridding to all
