Dang. Well, I'm sure it will be worth the wait.

UPDATE: Over the last few days I have been keeping my eyes open for the various expected flaws. And of course, I found them. 1. The left rear indicator was falling off. I rectified that by using a zip tie. It works pretty good even if it'snot as sightly as I wanted. I was actually planning to put another zip tie on the right, to balance the look as well as to prevent it from falling off as well, but it turns out that I would have to actually take it off to fit the zip tie. I decided to leave well enough alone. When I get to that bridge I'll cross it. 2. The ignition switch surround was falling off. Turns out that the clips that hold it in place were broken in some places. I rectified that with the trusty zip tie as well! (Is it just me or is the zip tie replacing duct tape as the fix for things that move when they shouldn't?!?). 3. The fuel gauge was acting weird. It worked fine when I got the scoot, measuring a drop in quantity as the days rolled by. But no sooner than I filled it up for the first time all hell broke loose. It would not read past half tank (This actually looks like 1/3 tank because these gauge is non-linear in a way that I have never seen before. It has 4 main graduation marks that look like empty, 1/3, 2/3, and full, but it's actually empty, 1/2, 3/4, full. Odd). Anyway, this morning I got my hands dirty. Getting to the sender was very easy. Much easier than in the Yamaha. The sender arm was very very stiff. I took a box cutter with a very sharp, flat blade and prised the retaining clip away from where the arm hinges to the sender body. That solved the problem. I'll keep an eye on it to see if it needs a bit more encouragement. I was having problems with fitting my GPS as I mentioned above and I finally figured out the solution. The only place I could mount it is on the mirror. But the mirror bar is just too skinny for the clamp. So, I went to Lowes and bought some rubber tubing. Okay...I didn't buy it...the guy just cut off 3 inches and told me to have a nice day! It was a 3/8 inch internal diameter. I set everything up and took the scoot for a ride this morning to test it and everything is perfect! I used my phone to take some pics and they're below: I'm still trying to get the pics uploaded from my cam but still can't find a cable. I did a video as well and that's also stuck on my cam. <sigh> We'll see how it goes. Really sorry about this guys, I messed up.

Nice job working some bugs out. Pics and vids aren't a big deal. You know we're glad to see 'em if you can do it sometime, if not we're just glad you're riding. I'm already jealous of your glove compartment/beverage holder I see. That little compartment is prob the most handy thing I've seen on scoots and none of mine have it.

Hey tango- its been awhile.. I remember you trying for a triton. But a new set of wheels is a new set of wheels. I especially like the picture with the child in the background thats holding a stick that looks like what dog catchers use. Its like your scooter is a wild beast being wrangled by the throat cuz its being ferociuous lol !!! SO fill me in..you flew to florida, bought the scooter, and flew back with it or what? how much was it to get it back home?

@ 'Vert: That little compartment is a God send. I am now thinking that it's something that I would love to have on the Yamaha. But the truth is that I am almost never on the Yamaha for as long as I am on the Taotao. My trips to work or on any errand on the Yamaha usually last no longer than 15 minutes at most. With the Taotao I am usually on it for 30 minutes or more. That means I'm more likely to get thirsty.
@ 'Vento: Yeah it's been a while, brother. I was actually originally looking for a Vento Zip, but all that fell through because I couldn't even find a Vento dealership around the Ft Lauderdale area. The Taotao was a last-resort purchase, but so far it has been pretty good. The child in the background is my daughter. She was helping her uncle clean the pool. LOL. The Taotao was bought here in FL and it will be kept here. I have no intention of taking it back to Jamaica.
