The water literally blends with the ethanol so I don't know that a filter like that would separate it. My experience with water filters is in getting the water out of non-ethanol gas in a boat; for that you use Sta-bil and very high quality, expensive, fuel filters with separating bowls and such.
I really don't think water and such is an issue with scooters unless you're storing fuel for weeks or months. I fuel our scooters out of the five gallon can that I use for fueling all my power equipment. In summer, I go through five gallons in a week or less between the scooters and the lawnmower, weedwhacker, etc., We don't have ethanol here, but we do have serious condensation issues that put water in your fuel in anything stored in an unheated area even in summer, so I put Sta-bil in any fuel I store.

Where does the water go after it gets seperated? I have a small fleet of 6 diesel tow truck fords chevy and dodge that I am charged with maintaning at work, and all 6 of them have a fuel water seperator but they all also have drain to release the water. Wich btw I have to drain at least twice a month. Now I have heard that ethenol is just as bad as diesel when it comes to absorbing moisture out of the air so there maby something to this idea. But its probably easier to keep your 1 1/2 gallon take topped off

Marine fuel filters absorb the water in their filter material. Really good marine fuel filters have a settling bowl to catch the water. I really don't think the issue with ethanol is the same as condensed water in normal gasoline. The ethanol and the water blend with each other and I don't know that you can separate them. In cold climates you add ethanol, brand names such as Heet, to your gasoline to blend with the water that condenses in your fuel lines so that the blended ethanol and water won't freeze and plug your fuel line.

You need a chemical that makes the ethanol and water fall out of solution before it can be "sifted" out. the good 'ol gas floats on water method dont work anymore.
sorry to make an undead "zombie thread"

Well this is the beast i have found. Seem's like it filters out the fuel do to fuel and water have a different molecular size.. makes sense.
