so this guy stopped me yesterday on my way home from work and asked me if I wanted to buy an extra scooter for 50 bucks. He says it runs but the sparkplug threads are stripped and the plug won't stay in. I'm gonna go take a look at it tomorrow. What should I be looking for to make sure it's not worthless I mean for 50 as long as the body and tires are good I think I can work with it.

lmao i didnt even think about a title...i was thinking just mechanical good call thanks...lol Hi Your most welcome my friend I have a friend who bought one recently, and due to not needing a reg or insurance he figured that having no title come with the scoot was not going to be a problem Come to find out one day he gets pulled over and the scoot is stolen property So hes out the scoot, the money he put out for her and had to go to court to straighten out the problem Unless your just going to part out a scoot never buy one with out the proper paperwork, a bill of sale is just not enough imho Take care and ride safely dear friend Yours Hank

well here in ohio you have to register it as a motorcycle and as long as its just a sparkplug issue i would plan on registering it so yea i would need a title for sure..lol.

cool well im gonna check it out tomorrow since i have that day off and if its decent im gonna take it. he says he's got a 150cc that has "engine noise" he wants gone for 150 but i said i dunno about that one...lol
so if it truely is just in need of a sparkplug rethreading, how hard would that be, it sounds like its pretty easy but ive never done it..lol

you can believe it needs more than plug threads. its ALWAYS more than what the seller even knows about.

find the VIN # and call your local police department and have them run a check on it. thats what i've done for every cheap deal i've found. im with what 1fastqmb says. it always needs more haha as long as you run the VIN check on it, you shouldn't worry about no title, right now theres 2 scooters here and neither has a title. on of which is project freedom ^.^

you shouldn't worry about no title if you live in a state that requires registration you should.

oh i did not know that, well. you'll have to get the owner to file for a lost title and probably get it that way.
