Thought ide share my findings. I had to put a new wire harness on this nice lil CPI Miskito. Got the harness all wired up and it fired good but wouldnt start.. Tried the usual to no avail, so the leak tester came out. Plugged the ex port with a piece of rubber this time and used the exhaust to hold it in place. Come to find out, there is no snap-ring at all Judging by the rest of the scoot im betting it came this way? Looks like its never been apart.

Nice sealing method. I started out with expansion plugs to seal the exhaust. Those things can be a real pain to seal sometimes. Tried the ones from Harbor freight and then went out and bought the rubber freeze plugs from an auto parts store. Spend more time trying the seal the ex port than all other parts of the leak test sometimes. I ended up cutting a plate out of 1/4" aluminum, steel would be fine too. Just use the header or a gasket as a template and drill the holes for the bolts. I seal it with RTV, but I think I might have to combine your idea and mine and use rubber in there. Then there's an easy seal and no fumbling with the whole pipe. I've got rubber washers right here too and the thought never crossed my mind. Thanks for the tip and the vid.

NP man.. I know what your saying about the expansion plugs. Most ex ports "funnel" to the header flange anyway. Making the plugs slide out if not juuust right. This was a quick fix for a stock set-up. Im not even sure if it will seal? I will know when i get the seals.?
