I have to find a replacement screw, mine isn't grabbing the spark plug anymore and stranded me today. Why do they make it unscrewable if you can't buy the part separate? Surely it has a name and can be found for sale somewhere. '

I use the same ones 2strokd showed. I don't think you'll find the inside only. Whole NGK boot is around $3-4.

Ive fixed those before yeeeaars ago. I put some glue on the threads and screwed it back in with a flathead screwdriver. It worked until it broke again shortly after. The little week wire that holds the boot on the plug wouldnt work anymore, so the boot would fall off the plug. The style boot listed has a snap on (like a cars), so you dont have to unscrew the tip off the plug. MUCH better design. OH, and it LASTS!!! Best of luck with it... I know this stuff can be tuff!

I think someone here did? They screwed it back in and called it fixed... Worth a shot i guess?..
I think the factory style was meant to last through the test drive? Thats about it lol.

Chinese plug caps = last for a while
NGK (Japanese) plug caps = last for years
Chinese plug caps are NGK knock-offs

Old cap - 9 years old original cap came on scooter in 2003 with 3,200 kilometers on it.
NGK - as stated, likely similar performance since the scoot probably won't be an 18 year old Chinese scooter rolling around in 2020 it'll be the last one I have to use hopefully.
I've never had any other cheap scooter so I can't comment on them, but my cheater seems to be a completely different scooter from everything out there as it has been nearly perfect and turns ten years old in 6 months. This scooter was never supposed to be imported and it doesn't seem to play by any of the other rules. A 50qt-16 that runs 50-55 mph on the gps bone stock, has only had a starter clutch in 9 years, has a yamaha 97 cc clone stuffed under it, and is still pretty much perfect in 2012.
