Hello im new to scooters but have alot of experience with motorcycles atvs and dirt bikes. i have a vino 2 stroke 50 and want more power. what big bore kit would be best for mid range and alot of rpm? or will a 90cc minarelli fit my scoot and if so how would it perform and what kind of rpm does the 90 spin compared to a 50 with a 70cc big bore kit. already piped by the way

:welcome: fasteddy! I like sport level big bore kits for street scoots. They have good power over a pretty wide range. You don't really want a lot of RPM anyway unless you plan on upgrading the crankshaft. What pipe you use will play a role in how it revs and performs. Polini Sport, Malossi Sport, Top Performance Trophy, Hoca from PFS , and the kits that Autotech355 on eBay sells are all good examples. A short case 90cc should fit. I did that to my Venus (Chinese Vino ripoff). Below are 2 links. One to the swap, another to a 90cc project I did that shows what to expect from all sorts of mods. 49ccscoot.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=yamajog&action=display&thread=99949ccscoot.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=yamajog&action=display&thread=1712&page=1A good sport 70cc should be able to run with a stock 90. The 90 will have more torque, but (depending on the exact setup) the 70cc might outrun it up top revving higher.

Awesome thanks so much for the reply. i haved a technicas pipe on it. i would like to stick with it because its not too ridiculously loud. so since i live in utah and its pretty hilly around here i would be better off getting a stock 90 shortcase and a performance variator it seems like to me. so its any 90cc short case marinelli that will bolt in?

As far as I know. Look over what you have and what you're considering. The 70 should work well though. There's a very big difference in a 70 and a 50 and most are pretty happy with that. Another thing to consider is your pipe may or may not work with a 90. If you get a used 90 like I did in the link, you can't be sure of what you'll find in the engine... could add up $. Unless you are more worried about max power than budget, weigh out your options carefully.

if you want a good kit for the hills get the top performance trophy kit
i belive the reed cage and reeds are spcific to the vino
and another thing to consider is that unless you get a small spline the vino runs a diffrent ele system than even the zuma so you will need some other parts too
diffrent r/r and cdi and you may also have to figure out the wireing issue as the vino has a 12 pole stator

Also has anyone tried using a dial a jet system on the scooters? if so what kind of results? and which part number for the kit?

dont even mess witht that dial a jet they are not the right jets for your tk carb there are only a couple of sources for your tk carb over on zumaforums they list the pn from yamaha for the proper main jetsby pn you can get up to an 84 main jet from yamaha or you can get them from jiangwayne
14T-14343-41-00 for the 82 and 14T-14343-42-00 for the 84 from yamaha
either that or get a good del 17.5mm carb for your build but you will need to upgrade to a single pull throttle tube and cable

OK so ive decided on the athena 70cc bbk specially made for the vino so i wont have to change mycarb. im also gettin an athena crank since this little guy does have 10k miles on him! so with that being said does anyone have any port dimensions for a simlar cylinder foe a good mid tostrong top end build? Also i definatley would not mid getting a few thousand rpm extra

no you will have to change your carb unless you want to burn that kit up withing 1500 miles
the athena kit will wear out real fast with anything less thena 17.5mm carb
that kit will rev to right around 9500 hapily with the right pipe it wont make much power past the 10,000 rpm range
and unless you are getting a pipe to go with it it wont get near the 9500 to 10000 rpm range

ok so i found an athena 17.5 mil carb and will get it as well. now my question is if my stock airbok will fit this carb? if not, is there another airbox that will fit to my scoot and that carb. im trying not to have to buy a open cone filter mainly because of the noise and the iopen filter would suck if i ever got caught in the rain im afraid. oh and by the way i do have a pipe its a tecnigas

you dont want an open filter any ways
most of the zuma guys run a true del not the athena
and yes the oem air box should fit up to a 21mm carb
