Yo peeps. I'm looking at changing my 10 inch large tire TGB 101s wheels for some 12 inch lower profile jobbies. 10 inch: www.motorcycledb.com/TGB_101S_2007/2240312 inch (says 10 in text but they 12): www.tgbscooters.com.au/101s.phpThe 101s does seem to come in a 12 inch wheeled version, and there are other TGB models that have 12 or even 13 inches. Now, I've looked into wheels HEAPS over the last week, and not really made much headway, so I thought I'd check. Is it true that wheels are very model specific? And thus I will have much more luck finding some (or any!) to fit my front disc/rear drum setup on my TGB if I just stick to TGB wheels? Is there any chance that a 12 inch wheel on a 101s will NOT fit where a 10 inch wheel once was? Should be a straight swap if both TGB 50cc, yeah? What are the chances that even Tapo wheels fit? Same engine, it appears, and def same front end: www.tgbscooters.com.au/tapo50cc.phpWill I notice a big difference in feel/handling by making this change? Or should I just save my $s? Thanks for any advice lads. JM

Wheels can be designed for different brake and axles setups, so you definitely need to find an appropriate wheel, prob for the comparable TGB, and not just any 12" wheel.
There are short and long case versions of the engines in a lot of Chinese scoots, but I dunno about the TGB. They appear to be the same in the pics. A lot of times the diameter of the 10" wheel with offroad kinda tires is about the same as the 12" with low profile. If you know the tire specs on each, you can figure out their actual diameter to know if it will be a problem.

If it helps any, all the TGB,s i have seen/worked on have Franco Morini engines.
When i did a 12inch swap on Skeedr a couple years back i had to also swap forks and front brakes.

Ah thanks lads. So it may even be a problem with the brake and fork setup. Interesting. I better stick with all 101s stuff to make it as interchangeable as possible. Cheers! JM

I don't know if it helps, but it is uncanny how similar that TGB resembles my E-ton Beamer II! Is this a coincidence? Or are these man. by the same people?

unless they did something funky eton runs minerllie engines not morini engines Right jmk  Im betting front wheel width, axle size, and rear wheel shaft splines and size could be different. I used CPI wheels on a CPI and still ended up having to switch brake caliper (rotor size), and front shocks (axle OD). Honestly ive ran both size wheels a bunch. The only real difference was looks. If i had good tires, both combos felt great :riding:
