Trying stiff pillow springs in the HiT clutch and video from the swamp test ride : www.youtube.com/watch?v=FdV6oxjZpMEAlso, I put the GoPro that got wet in a bowl of rice and it now works again! I left you a comment with some tips. You're welcome.

Yeah it was. I was worried that I was not ridiculous enough and may be taken seriously compared to some of the other comments you get.

I think it's pretty darn impressive what you have managed to do with this kit. Everyone who buys a hyper-race kit naturally pushes it as far as it will go (usually till it goes boom) and it is a cool proof of concept that you can effectively de-tune one and have it run all day and still perform well. Plus your MPG figures have been pretty good too.
This has been a really interesting build to follow, thanks for your hard work Brent.

I think what Brent has done shows a lot more skill and know-how, rather than throwing a bunch of thirsty and deep breathing parts on and ripping around town until there's fire. What he's done shows a very refined method and level of skill in regard to tuning a motor to do precisely what you want.

... But if he got a better pipe most of life's problems would be solved.

Only if it has that U bend. I’m sure even if you got a perfectly matched pipe, cut off the silencer and welded on a penton type silencer (so it looks the same as you have) people will still tell you it’s all wrong.
Have you checked what the proper specs “should” be compared to what that pipe was built to? Maybe it’s not too far off.

Ironically that pipe started life with the "magic U bend",but the darn thing kept breaking off due to the huge miles this man puts on a scoot compared with most average folk..Too bad the U bend guys were not riding with me years ago in nasty enduros doing your best only to hear a faint ring rattle behind you and then overtaken by a whisper quiet Penton throwing mud into your goggles as they whiz past..I was luckily working at a Penton/KTM dealer during that time,so I could dissect that mysterious quiet exhaust easily..Turned out to be a simple design that a few other high power 2 stroke race bikes were running then..I copied it on many pipe builds(always giving credit to Penton) and was never sorry!Yep it looks different, but has tons more volume to expand and cool the exhaust gasses which create a quiet sound with no power loss... PS, Would love to see the dimensions of the "MAGIC Pipe" specs to compare them with this one..

If I’m not mistaken PIG had the pipe intended for the TPR 86. Maybe it’s still around...

I've got a new fan! From my trenching video : Raymond Ashby commented: "that's not a scribe - it's a scriber. a scribe is an old geezer who used to write bibles, law books etc, back in the day." Raymond Ashby commented: "trying to file a casting while it's wobbling about on the bench is such a schoolboy error, that even a not very bright schoolboy would spot it. I love how-not-to videos...….. sakes" I've now been demoted below even a not very bright schoolboy. He did kinda get me on the scriber, but I'll still call it a scribe because I already knew that. He should probably stay more than arm's length away if I'm holding a scribe or a scriber. I was gonna ask if he also knew the definition of curmudgeon and tell him I'll be out in the garage so just holler from your armchair if you need me, but I decided to leave it alone.

I've been playing catchup with this thread for a spell now and it still amazes me what Brent can do with a scooty engine. Sure, all the armchair advisors are keen on copying every other build on the planet and will claim impressive numbers with very little to prove they did it. Brent builds so far outside the box (i imagine at times) just to troll the moneybags checklist builders. I'll bet Brent is actually sittin on $300k only because he's such a miser and builds what he wants from what he can source cheap. Thats a true engineer. A pioneer of scooty engines diving into custom builds and tunes

If I’m not mistaken PIG had the pipe intended for the TPR 86. Maybe it’s still around... Pretty sure it made the trip when I moved houses. If I remember correctly, I think it has a small crack in the U bend and the silencer is toast. I’ll have a look for it and weld the crack up. I’ll take some pics of it and you can decide if want it or not. I’m sure you have enough parts laying around to make it scream again. Shipping can be a little expensive from Canada, but that’s all it’ll cost you my friend. 🍻

I just watched your top speed video. I'm happy for you.
for a second I thought, if he had front fairings and full tucked, it would have done 70 on the Vapor.
I also thought about when I was seeking more speed and found that variator drive boss length can make a big difference in top speed.
watching that video reminded me of when I went from a polini CP 24 with stock air box to OKO 26 clone. huge difference in top end. when I seen your top speed run, I thought with a CT intake manifold and an OKO 28 it probably would have hit 70+ on that run. ...and then I seen that youtube comment about Dellortos being outdated and the PWKs being the better technology... I don't know if I can agree with his comment. I have never tuned a Dellorto but I can say that tuning a wide open OKO 28 is not fun. without a venturri diffuser, wide open PWKs don't perform well at partial throttle.
all in all, I respect your approach, to each their own. I'm happy for you that you achieved what you set out to do. I thought your videos were well done. reading the youtube comments were entertaining. the bandwagon about the "get a better pipe". just for that, you should commission a new pipe, full race pipe, custom made by the same maker of the Peace Pipe. a custom pipe race pipe for that 86cc, and piss them off by making it another pipe with a Penton silencer. I read of Honda guys slapping on cheap YMS V8 pipes in order to detune their Corsas. I can only imagine what a custom 86 Peace Pipe would do with that bore.

The offer of the TPR pipe with a bad silencer and cracked stinger and my affection for the Penton design made me think that maybe, if John was open to it, the pipe could be shipped to him and transformed into a TPR with a Penton muffler. I did a quick check on shipping with a UPS calculator and the cheapest rate is over $100 to ship. That's a great deal on a pipe (thank you PIG ), but by the time John works on it and it gets back to me I'd probably be approaching what I could get the MHR Big Bore for (I can get a bit of a discount, which I'll explain in the near future.) or perhaps the silencer could just be replaced or repacked or whatever it needs. Other thought is; if the stinger is cracked, is it a flawed design and it will happen again? I personally think the TPR/Penton is a cooler idea, but I know John is always busy and if I don't do 80MPH then I can pretty much guarantee that I'm gonna hear repeatedly that it's because I don't have a proper U-bend exhaust.
