When is the first car show of the season? What’s the deadline? May 20... but I want this done well before then if at all possible.

ScooterTuning has A pistons back in stock. I may just email Jeff and see if they have B again as well. If so, I'll call it close enough. From what I've seen, the 0.01mm will wear so quickly that it hardly matters. I was trying to do it more by the book, but I'm not waiting months or paying higher prices if I don't have to over 0.01mm (0.0004").

That was fast. He got back to me in under 15 minutes. B is in stock, so that works for me.
EDIT : Nope. Scratch that. He looked and they don't have the B either. Told him I'm looking around ATM and may cancel.

RRF preparation has abcd for 86tpr but that’s a lot of coin to get it.

After the wait to get parts from scooter attack I’m very hesitant to get things from Europe again.
Maybe “Wish” has a piston set

The one from the Xtreme 77 has 1872 cast next to Vertex, 20826 on the crown. I’ll measure it up to see if it’ll work for you. Location pin is at 8 o’clock. I did see them available from a couple sources but not many. Maybe the vertex numbers will turn something up.

Thanks for checking Ryan. I did google those numbers, but I'm not getting anything. I found a Wossner 8241DB for a KTM 65SX. 49.97mm and 12mm pin. I don't know the compression height though. The ring locator pin is at 6:00, so it would be on the exhaust port bridge. Not sure if that works out well. www.ebay.com/itm/Wossner-8241DB-Piston-Kit-49-97mm-KTM-65-SX-0910-4891-/383983836801?_trksid=p2349526.m4383.l4275.c1#viTabs_0EDIT : I found a generic KTM 65 SX piston on Ali Express with a diagram saying 21.5mm compression height. My pistons from the TPR are 24mm compression height. About 2mm from the edge of crown to top of dome. The locator is roughly 11:00. Just to make sure we're on the same page with clocking, I assume we're taking 12:00 as intake center and 6:00 as exhaust center. The pistons by Vertex/Italkit that pewpew posted look good, but they're on non-english sites, one site doesn't load and the other is RRD that I was just warned about.

they're on non-english sites If you are using google chrome you can easily use the translator function by right-clicking somewhere on the page and simply translate the whole page.

I did that, but also one doesn't even list any shipping to US and since it's only French and Spanish I assume they don't really intend to do a lot of business here. I don't want to spend $100-150 and get the piston in June. Of course I just saw that a local guy had a letter mailed to him in a neighboring small town from that town's post office in August of 2020 and he received it 2 days ago (March 2021).

It's still such a lottery how long stuff is going to take. Even a first class letter sent fifty miles away took over a week to get here a couple weeks ago. Parts sent internationally are anyone's guess.

I gave up and ordered the TPR C piston from MaxiScoot. I'm afraid I'd end up with a piston with the locator in a bad spot or the dome would be off or something and results wouldn't be fairly comparable to previous TPR test runs. Ended up paying $147.XX, so a few bucks cheaper today due to conversion rate changes. I figured if I get an $80 piston and it doesn't work, that ends up being pretty expensive too. I went with UPS so maybe it won't take forever.

I've got another person telling me long form how bad I am at 2Ts on the TPR vids. So far, in 8 comments yesterday : - Never use JB Weld in cases. It's so dumb that he laughs and me and asks me to be professional. - I cut way too much out of the cases with my trenching, so it creates less vacuum. Every time you add volume, you lose HP. - I should throw away my crankcases due to the above. - When you gasket match, you need a tight angle at the transfers, not flat, to create more vacuum and suck in more fuel. I'm not even sure exactly what he's saying there. I guess he means just taper back the top of the case to match up and don't mod the wall in the case since every bit of volume increase is a HP loss per his above criticisms. - I should check squish. Then he saw that I did and it's all wrong. You never modify a head. You only adjust squish with base gaskets because you want to move port timing too. My piston sides are dark from blow-by because the squish is too large. - Ignition is worth 5HP, but the MVT sucks.
"just a tip for you from some one with alot alot of experience in two strokes"
I'm open to being wrong, and don't claim to know all of the technical details of modern 2T/porting ideas, but laughing at me and telling me how good you are doesn't tend to convince me.
EDIT : Many hours later. My reeds also have a very very big flaw that they can't open far enough becaause the passage isn't wide enough. My ignition is set absolutely incorrect. At least now I know all of the reasons (till he has time to watch more) that I can only go 70-something. Turns out, it has nothing to do with being tall, wide and heavy like I thought.
On a brighter note, I ordered Michelin Power Pure SC tires from RevZilla. I had $20 of Zilla Cash from getting a helmet a while ago and they had the cheapest prices that I could find on the tires to begin with. They have an ad about a $30 prepaid card from Michelin with the purchase of front and rear Michelin tires, but the forms on Michelin's site didn't seem to allow me to fill out RevZilla or any online dealer as the dealer unless I missed it. EDIT : Just tried again and used Philadelphia PA for Revzilla and Other for the store name and it seemed to go through. We'll see if it actually processes.
