So today I was riding my scooter in the rain, I drove thru some puddles and when I came to a stop light the engine started loping, revving to 4k rpm and drop to almost 0, 3-4 times then died. I tried to restart it but it would do the same loping then die. I tried to give it gas to keep the revs up but nothing happened. So I pulled off to the sidewalk and started walking it back home. After 15 min I got tired and I restarted it and i gave it some gas to keep it from dying out, it worked so I rode it home. I just had to hold the throttle so it wouldn't die out at stop lights. I think maybe some water got into the airbox? After i got home i let it rest for 2 hrs and it works fine. Has this happened to any of you before? It was pretty scary braking down in traffic any info on how I can prevent this from happening would be great. I also took off the rear fender/ hugger I feel like this has something to do with the issue as well cause I've road in rain before and this has never happened

Electrical is a common cause of this. You can silicone connections. I just wrap all of my connections in electrical tape, and I've never had a problem with that even in pouring rain with a scoot with no fairings.
For the airbox just try and keep the inlet shielded the best you can and of course make sure it's sealed elsewhere.

Also, in cool damp conditions, you could be experiencing carburetor icing.
Happens here, to me, all the time.

Thanks 90 that totally makes sense, it only happened after I removed the rear hugger and a lot of the wires aren't completed sealed. Like the spark plug wire, the boot and the wire has a gap so some wiring is exposed I better go get another one and I plan to get a rear hugger that fits as well as get a mtkt undertray to protect the wiring from rain, thanks

If the plug wire has bare wire showing, fix or replace it. That can be a major problem. The wire should screw onto the coil and cap. If either aren't tight or won't tighten properly, cut off 1/4" or so of the plug wire and do it over.
