That is a good idea, just more involved than I wanted and this way went with the body line well. I initially thought of putting the signals horizontal above the headlight, but they should be easier to see farther away from the much brighter headlight. It's a decent temp outside, before some storms roll in. T1 is just waiting on a headlight. T2 is waiting on a carb. I already worked on the Venus. T1's original motor is sitting in the floor. Hmmm. I pulled the rest of the stuff off of it and split the cases. It'll need more clearancing to fit a 54mm kit eventually. Not in any hurry, but just wanted to work on a scoot a little more. While I was at it, I've only seen Robert cut the starter clutch boss off of the case to make room for the overrange kit. I wanted to see how easy it was with the cases split, and thought I'd show anyone else interested. (No, I don't have an overrange kit... I just like to mess with things. lol) With the crank out, you can see a last rusty lip (well, it won't always be rusty, but this one is). Use a flat screwdriver and a hammer and start tapping around the edges. Be careful not to damage the surfaces where the bearing or seal sits. It should begin to separate. Before long, it's off. Pretty easy. If you are able to, doing it this way will allow you to put it back if ever necessary.

lol Thanks! ;D Since I'm posting here, I got a notification that a package has shipped from ScrappyDog. That should mean my headlight is on the way!

Thanks. I went out and fired it up. Had to pull the air filter off to get it going. Definitely needs a smaller pilot jet. Not gonna bother with that yet though. I'm just waiting for it to get late and traffic to get off my streets. lol Don't need that low throttle junk anyway.

So much for that idea. After a few minutes to get it started, I pushed it out to warm up. Got all my gear on, GPS on, etc... Hopped on the scoot, hit the gas, headlight blew, switched to hi, blew. Pulled the bulb out and the socket was loose. Thought that may have been part of it. Switched to the stock socket. Took 20 min to get it in the housing after some filing and stuff. Left the scoot running the whole time. Highest temp I saw was 183F. Of course it's only 55-60 degrees outside right now. Hopped on again, blew both bulbs again. I hate scooters sometimes. I guess tomorrow I'll try a rectifier. It's supposed to storm so even if that does work I won't get to try it out.

At about 11:30 I said, " this, I'm riding tonight!" I went out and swapped in 3 rectifier/regulators that I have. None of them worked. Took the one off of T2 and now I have lights again. Both of the ones that work for the Triton are marked with QJ on the back. i got it started and went for a spin. I gotta admit, I was a little nervous. This is really the first ride I've taken on this scoot since it was lowered and I was trying to go as fast as possible. Brilliant idea! Unfortunately, it was slow tonight. Felt lean. Had a hard job getting it to pick up. I think I just barely squeaked past the 10,000RPM mark at one point. This tach is badass at night btw. Not used to being able to see any of my gauges when it's dark out. lol Cylinder head temp got up there pretty good running it hard. Peaked at about 302F. Once I backed off, and especially when I stopped to turn around and idled for a sec, it cooled down. Worked it's way back up to 300 again once I got in it. Pulled the plug and it confirmed what I thought. The mixture ring is extremely light. Max speed was only 65. Oh, the lowered scoot feels odd. I like the rear shock and the stiff feel up front, but the level stance will take some getting used to.

Looks gooood man  :thumb: ! The tach is a nice addition huh ? I would be lost without mine now. 65 is haulin ass for a first time out! I like mine lowered but the turns take some getting used to huh? Are you using the L/C adapter for your temp gauge?

A very nice addition. Thank you again. ;D I am using the LC adapter.
The turns didn't bug me, it just felt really odd any time. When it's higher in the rear, I feel like I'm riding the scoot. With it level, I feel like I'm sitting on top of the scoot. That prob makes no sense. lol I know I have a nasty vibration at 60 and above. Front tire I guess. I can really feel it in the handlebars.
65 doesn't seem very good for a first run when it was pulled straight out of a non-fairing scoot that went 70. I think the temp was only maybe 5 degrees cooler when I made the last run, but now it's really lean. Crazy.

I feel like I should note, those are stock size tires. 120/70/12 and 130/70/12. Michelin Boppers just look cool.
