I think lowering the scoot makes the tires look bigger or the scoot look smaller. Something like that?

Ignore the speedo. It's set just like T2's, but it's way off? Had the GPS with me, so that's how I got the speed. Boggy, laggy, junk. When I pass the truck, that's WOT.
I've already changed a bit around. While that one was uploading, I got some more vid. Coming soon to a theater near you.

It does sound pretty pah,pa, poor on the low end and even laggy on the mid and top. Again tho, 66MPH running like that is darn impressive ;D

Here's the other vid. I swapped to 6g (from 7g) sliders. RPM jumps to where I need it much better now. The engine is just so dead below 8,000 or so that it feels horrible if it's not tuned to rev high at all times. The problem that causes is that now the belt slips on the hit of the pipe for a few seconds. The belt looked OK when I pulled it apart to swap sliders, but it already looked like there was some slipping going on. The marks were on the vari, not the rear pulley. Everything was really hot after even a brief test. The added slipping caught up to me, as you see at the end of the vid and the pic below. I guess I should try to go with a stiffer contra and heavier rollers and hope that cures the slip once I get the CVT all cleaned out. I played with jets and such too. It was on a 102 on my first ride last night. That was lean. Moved to a 105 for the first vid. Seemed basically OK at WOT. Tried 108 and 110, both seemed too rich. Swapped the pilot from 72 to 66 in steps. Now I think I need to raise the needle a step. This thing just tends to annoy me. Never had a motor I can't get clear results from with jetting adjustments and such. When I do get this one figured out the temp or something changes and it seems wrong again. I just wanna get over 70 now. I know it's in there somewhere, but it just doesn't feel like it's got it quite like it did ATM. It now refuses to go much above 10,000RPM. I was seeing 11,000 or better.

It's back together with a 2000RPM contra. Didn't seem much different than what was in there so I just went with 6.5g sliders for a first guess. I did notice my back tire was at 19psi. That can't be helping at speed. Pumped it up to 42.

Raised the needle to compensate for a lean area near WOT. Went for a spin. Wow is the tune way off now. I guess the spring from PFS in the rear pulley kit is stiffer than a 2000RPM. With 6.5g sliders, I had to really work to get it to pass 8500 or so to hit. At one point I went a few miles and it never hit. I left out a spacer in the vari when I put it back together from the belt failure. I think leaving it out may do the trick to stop the slip. It doesn't even completely disengage at a stop. Might just stick the trans back to where I had it earlier, minus the spacer, and then see what happens.
Raising the needle now made it super rich. It sputters at WOT and sputters hard in other spots. Might go down a jet size and leave the needle where it is.
I only made it to 63MPH with it sputtering and struggling.

Sounded like you pulled the clutch to shoot for a 60MPH wheelie  ! Lol, we need a wheelie smiley! .
Im surprised it runs that well with a 49cc style muffler. I got confused for just a second when you said hitting the pipe. Then i thought "what else is he gonna call it when the scooter gets into the power? Pipe or not. Another belt  . I noticed the black Hoca spring is stiff as a board! I put it in mine for one test and its been on the shelf since. hhhmmm

We do need a wheelie smiley. IIRC the only ones I saw were cheesy looking. I'll try and remember to check again.
49cc muffler? T2 is the one with the stock crap. lol

Thing looks sick, man. I love your naked scoot, but this one kills it in looks, IMO.

Thanks Josh. No doubt, T2 is no competition in a beauty contest vs... well... just about anything. lol I did the changes I said I was going to. Down from a 105 main to a 102 main. Needle still 1 from richest. 66 pilot (noting it all for my own reference). Swapped back to the Hoca spring and 6g sliders. Minus the spacer. It still slips when it hits, but I can "sneak up on it". If I go easy on it till it's kicking in already I can avoid the slip. That's not really a good solution, but it'll work for a test run. I'm not really sure how to cure that slip when it hits. I'd try a stiffer spring, but I don't have one stiffer than this thing. It's bad enough that it's no fun to compress trying to get the belt on. Other than that, it's in a good state of tune I think. I don't have dead spots in the throttle or lean pops or rich bogs. Responds well. I can go easy on the throttle rather than having to stay WOT (which is more from the CVT than the carb). Not bad. It'll probably be off tomorrow for no apparent reason, but works today. I also found the easiest way yet to set up a speedometer if you have a GPS. Put in a number for your wheel size (I used what T2's speedo used 1376 IIRC). Go out and stretch it's legs. The faster you go, the better for accuracy's sake. Figure out what percentage the scoot is off of the GPS and adjust accordingly. For example, my speedo said 100MPH and the GPS said 68MPH. That means I need my speedometer's wheel size set at 68% of what it is currently. 1376 x 0.68 = 935.68. I can't set it in decimals so I just went with 935. Worked well. Both were right on on the next run. Here's a vid of it today. Just took a couple of quick trips up the road rather than riding very far. Took it easy on the way out for two reasons. One, I can check throttle positions and tune. Two, and most importantly, I'll be headed toward home so I can coast closer if I beat on it and kill something on the way back instead. lol Less walking. ;D I really wanted to pass the car in the first run, but I didn't realize how fast I was closing on her and there was a truck coming. My bad. Coulda got a cager. Again, sorry the camera moves so much. Hanging it from the zipper of my jacket is the best way I've found to show the gauges some and get a view of the road. Problem is the wind catches it at times. EDIT : Man, I really worry about my turn signals being on a lot. lol I know I check often, but when I watch the vids of me riding it's like I'm OCD about leaving one on or something. I was curious to see what kind of gas mileage this thing gets. I know it seemed like a lot of fuel was disappearing, especially when the rollers were too heavy and I was WOT so much, but I've never checked the gas mileage. I rode for 21 miles, being pretty easy on it. Most of the time cruising at about 40, occasionally following traffic at 50 something, up to 65 or so once. I stopped for gas 18.51 miles in and it took 0.523 gallons to refill. That's 35MPG. Not as bad as I feared, obviously not good for a scoot. Bout the same mileage as a sportbike... just a hundred some HP shy. Still, it's hard to complain when it's this fun.
The one time I took it up to 65 or so, you'll never guess what I damn near hit in the road. ... A hay bale. Just lying in the road, already with a tire track on it and kinda split up. It woulda sucked to have to tell you guys a hay bale got me again. Can't these fools tie down their hay?
One more note, it's not rich at WOT. Not sure how it goes from being good to being rich when the temp drops, but it did. I told you this thing is nuts. It's still fine everywhere else, just get a mild rich sputter at WOT sometimes. This thing needs some sensors and an EFI setup to keep it straight I think.

Looking good, Brent. 35 mpg That's about as good as a Honda Civic, still As for the turn signal thing. I do that a lot as well. Especially if I'm sitting at a long stop light. I'll be pressing that button a billion times til the light turns green. Almost like it's NOS or something ;D

I do too. I think its a habit we formed so we arent the guy looking a fool with his turn signal on all the way down the road.
