I've seen accidents caused by motorcyclists leaving their turn signals on before now, so I'm paranoid about leaving mine on.

I know I always forget to turn off the signal on the Ninja. Between hitting the gas, the clutch, and shifting gears, I forget to flip it to off. It's one of those like <-> Where the - is off. I wish it was just a button like the scooter! I hate trying to get it in the middle and then end up pushing it too far and having the other signal on.

Good to know it's not just me.
The SunL had the same design as the Ninja. I hated it too.

A scoot like this will keep you in shape. I went out for a late night ride. Somewhere before 2AM my belt snapped again at around 65MPH I'd guess and about 10 miles from home. The brilliant part is, I was replacing brakes on the truck and it was on jackstands. Just needed the wheels to be put on and brought down from the jackstands. Luckily my father was a mechanic most of his life, and he was kind enough to throw the wheels on in the middle of the night and come get me. I walked just shy of 3 miles with the scoot by the time he arrived. Always fun when the moon is behind clouds. That's 3 breakdowns for me in the last week. 2 belts on T1 (this and the one in the vid). 1 throttle cable of project 90.

I remember you had that "belt flu" with another build..Didnt it turn out to be funky/cheap belts?

Sorry to read this. Glad your Pop was up and cool enough to come get you. Yeah, what kind of belts broke this time? Bando,s? We need to get you a good keli!

Keli?
These are all Bando belts, the ones that made the "belt flu" disappear last time. I try not to touch the other belts, especially not for the 103. The fact that it hits so hard that the belt slips can't be doing it any good. Then add in that I was rolling 60-70 most of the time last night so WOT at about 11,000RPM (it is revving there now that I have had more time to look) with a heavy rider can't help.
I gotta say, if not for having to wake my house up and have my father come out, it was worth all the walking and trouble. lol Holy crap 60-70 through turns on a scooter in the middle of the night is fun! Heck, just feeling this thing hit is fun. John builds some nasty pipes. It might be harder to get in tune, but once it's there it moves! The roads are so dead here I can screw around that late. The whole time I was walking only 3 cars passed me. I did have a duck fly out of some bushes and startle me though. lol The moon was behind clouds so I couldn't see anything, next thing I know something is flying out of some bushes making a lot of flapping noise. Musta woke him up? lol The bad thing is, yes the lowered scooter feels crappy for handling. More so after being used to T2 that's raised a little in the rear and has a frame support.
I wish my friend's 150 was running. I'd really like to race it now. From a roll, like 30-40MPH I think it would be very one sided. From a stop, well I am 100lbs heavier, the 150 makes nice torque to get to the first 30-40MPH, and I have to wait for the belt to stop slipping from the hit. lol I'd love to try it either way though.
If it would stop messing up belts, it would be a fun scoot. As it stands, I just can't afford to shred a $30 belt every 30-40miles.

I don't know if you've ever used a kevlar, Brent. Maybe you've been thinking they're not worth the extra money. But both me and Robert have used them, and they are EXTREMELY worth the money. Not only do they not wear down as fast, but they don't stretch either. I'll bet you that it'll fix your belt flu problem.

They will tear up like any other belt but messier. But i believe they old up better to heat and such. They grip better for sure!

Links would be appreciated. I looked at a Kevlar belt when I ordered from an MRP shop last time for the Bandos. They say the Bando is the highest quality and it's more expensive than their kevlars. I know Reign had mentioned PFS' belts. That what you use too Robert... when you aren't using the overrange I mean? Would be nice to not expect to breakdown. lol If it would grip enough to actually make use of the pipe's hit, that would be excellent. :spin:

Shoot, i dunno what size to suggest for your app buddy? I know Shakerdriver had a Polini i used that was a bit short but gripped good when all other Bando,s slipped on one set-up i had trouble with. I one in my OR kit has never slipped that i know of? No signs when inspecting. But like i said, no idea on what one to get for yours? I could get the part number from Jason, or maybe see if he will sell his?

I've got a Polini catalog around here that Jeremy sent me with an order at one point. Maybe it'll have some info. I hate how Malossi/Polini?etc... won't just tell you the damn size. I just want a 788 17 28 or something incredibly close to that in kevlar. I know that's what the one from PFS is. No name brand, just kevlar for $39.99. Closer to $50 shipped. My only fear is that if it doesn't work, that's even more money shot in 30 miles.

I've been running the kevlar I got from PFS since I bought it, and it's still just as good as the day I did. I bought a regular belt from them when I first got my scooter, and it got chewed up and stretched within a few months.
