Last night I sent an email to mbe, who some have said they've been unable to reach. I had a response email this morning. I sent the email out at 11:30pm last night. Anyway here is what I said, and their .
Hi, I was interested in your 90cc two stroke engine you have for sale. There are several others who are interested as well on a local scooter forum.. It seems they have tried to contact you with no response. I was hoping you could give me some information on your company and to let us know your an active company. Thanks so much!
Hi travis, we are located in quebec, canada. Our company has been open since 2002. We are having problems with the website but working on 2 new sites.
Unfortunately the 90cc 2T engine is out of stock and cannot seem to find a manufacturer still making them. They are all stopping production of 2t engines.
Thanks
Martin Beaumier MBE Motorsports inc.

Thanks for posting this, unfortunately sad, info. All the past contact problems still would keep me from being the first in line here to place an order.

I have NEVER had a response from MBE.
That said: I am a Canadian, and MBE is located in a part of Canada that I hesitate to do business with, in fact if I was to decide to do business with them I would jump in my car and pay them a visit. I would not buy ANYTHING "sight-unseen" out of that part of the country (and I was born there)

Thanks inuyasha. Apparently Canada can't get them a well then? Why can't we find someone overseas? Is it that hard? It seems we get tons of Chinese and Taiwanese parts from both of those places. So where's the motors?
And reveen. Have you tried contacting them recently? It seems they were having trouble with their website. I would never myself rule out a place of business because of where it's located. Personally, close to where I live is a scooter shop not located in the best part of town. However they carry hundreds of thousands of scooter parts, and fully trained mechanics. They've saved my butt MORE than a couple times. Do you just not like Quebec?

fickertravis:
More often than not the rule of "business" in the Province of quebec is to steal the eyeballs out of an unsuspecting customer one day, and return to steal the holes the next. There is not one business deal, in quebec, that is what it seems.
You may find out differently, and I will be happy for you, but the last "straight" deal I got out of that Province was delivering the Montreal Gazette 50 years ago. (isn't that scary?)

This was my response to his return email:
That's a shame about the 90cc 2T. I know so many people looking for them. Thanks for the quick reply!
He wrote back:
Yes I know, I have been looking all over but 2T engines and parts are getting harder to find. You can have them produced but you would need to order about 300pcs.
I asked him what that meant. I'm waiting on a reply now

fickertravis,
I think what he means is that it he would only import the engine by sealed container. We know that the engine is still being produced overseas, but Customs isn't allowing the engine into the county due to lack of EPA certification. This is why we no longer carry the 90cc 2T either.
Full disclosure: I have no idea how Canadian customs works for engine importation, my knowledge is entirely US based.
Long story short, parts will continue to be available, but the complete engines are not to be found stateside, and will be very difficult to pull in from overseas, even individually. If you see one here in the US available, until further notice, buy it.

This is the question I asked him:
What do you mean by produced? Order the engine disassembled?
He replied just now with:
No, ask an engine manufacturer to make another production for us.

Fugaziiv::
If you guys can get all the top end parts and cvt parts, etc, could you not also get the 90cc empty case halves?

Actually yes, we are working on that project now. Unfortunately that means that it is a few months away yet though. We've got to get all of the parts in house first so that we know they'll go together correctly for the end customer. It's going to take some added R&D first before we can offer them.

That's some of the best news i've heard in awhile. I'm looking forward to it. These would be the same case halves from the original 90 you guys sold I hope. Thanks!

That's the idea, yes, but we have to get the parts in the home office to verify first before we can do anything. It won't be fast, but we are working on a solution.
