idk if this is the right place to post this BUT.... I just bought a badboy cx and thought it just needed a carb cleaned. I rode it home and after taking it apart I found out that the main jet is broken from the inside of the carburetor. I've been trying to find a replacement carb but I havent had any luck at all. I tried to order one on scooters123.com but the order never went through nor did I get a confirmation/tracking number. I called a few times, left a number but nothing. I also don't trust the site because it keeps defaulting my state to alabama. idk if its supposed to do that lol. Any help to as where I could find a replacement?

to the forum. Below are parts sources that I've used in the past with good results. I never had a Bad Boy (I had other midbikes that used the same engine platform) so I can't tell you exactly which carb, but both of these spots carry a few. It's been a while since i was into that kind of bikes, but they used to use either a method of restricting throttle travel in the grip or the carb in those. I don't think many were restricted via CDI... unless it was at 10,000RPM where they didn't wanna rev anyway. Myself and friends owned 6 midbikes total and none were restricted stock, so I dunno how common any restrictions are. Just being a 50cc is a pretty big restrictor. lol The 110cc and larger versions of those engines are much faster.

Just asking cuz I can get it up to 50 in 2nd gear wen I was messing around. I got to the top of a hill and all of a sudden I had a huge amount of torque kick in and wanted to see what it could do. Got it going 50 on a flat road. I tried it again this time switching to 3rd gear and it went up to 40 but as soon as I shifted to 4th I can hear my rpm go way down and I lost throttle. Speed went back down to 30 before I could throttle and get to my norm top speed of 32mph. Would that be an rpm limiter?

I dunno what that would be. My first thought is your speedometer is screwy. I know on some midbikes the speedometer would change with engine RPM. As I'm understanding it, it kinda seems like that's what happens on yours. As you change gears and RPM drops your speed drops. The other scenario would be that you're sprockets are making too steep of a gear and the engine just can't pull it. I sounds unlikely that you'd hit top speed in 2nd though, and 50 would be very fast for a 50cc 4T. I guess it could be a rev limiter that changes by gear, but I dunno if they're that sophisticated. I know some of those engines have a sensor that tells the gear, but I thought they only used it for gear indicators on the display.

I thought that too but then I went past one of those police speed signs and it clocked me at 40. I'll ask around to see what's up with it...I knowa small engines mechanic that deals with atvs and snowmobiles that do the same thing.
