If its a mainland china kit like off ebay or from SDS.....
1. make sure the oil ring gaps are not more than .020 or it will smoke like a train. 2. you MAY need more than one base gasket for proper piston/head/valve clearance. Check the distance between the top of the piston and the head gasket surface of the cylinder. should be....a few thousandths? not sure of the exact spec.

well i got it running great but it smokes like a train any ideas?

I had the same problem it was the oil rings gap was to wide had to get another set of rings the 100cc kit I got off ebay with the yellow dot on the piston which 1FASTQMB mentioned above about the rings

Yeah i have a set of control rings coming. Did yours start off ok then gradually get worse?

yea as soon as I started it smoked like crazy I didnt run it that much till I got the new rings in been about 5 months now and still doesn't smoke at all

Any tips for putting the rings on? procedure ect? Should i just replace the oil control rings or compression rings too?
