I was riding my scoot this morning on the way to work and I couldn't resist the urge to really let her fly. There is this really long stretch of road that is very flat with a lot of scenic farms with tons of cows and horses. Anyway, I was flying down this road amazed at how fast my scoot was going and wouldn't you know it a state police appears behind me and pulls me over. I very rarely go this fast on my scooter and I never got pulled over before on it. I just couldn't resist because it was such a beautiful morning. Luckily the state trooper was a fellow ship mate of mine from the Navy who just moved into the area so he said he would pretend the whole thing never happened. The suprising part of this whole story is how fast his radar clocked me at....he said I was going 63 MPH!!!...I honestly never thought my scoot could go that fast! I am assuming that their radar guns are pretty accurate.

Glad it worked out OK. 63 isn't too surprising for a GY6 150. Is yours tagged as a motorcycle or do you ride like a 50? If it's not tagged, be really careful doing that because you can get worse than a speeding ticket.

I recently got pulled over doing 72 MPH by SCHP on an interstate one night . The cop was interested in what kind of scooter it was since I was going that fast .
I had one pull up beside me and tell me he was about to hit the blue light as he thought my brake lights were out since I only use them to stop instead of slow down .
In SC if your tagged and have on a helmet like you should the cops overlook me if I go just above the speed limit .
I had a 50mm BBK screamer and was zooming down a highway at 2 am . A cop car with two in it pulled up beside me , pointed and laughed since Im a big guy 6ft3 on a small scooter going fast and they drove on .
In SC they are cracking down on those with moped tags if the go over 30 MPH even if the speed limit is higher since above 30 MPH its a motorcycle

I too, usually let her rip, going into work, in the morning (4AM, 10,000+rpm), but the other morning I was graced with my very own police escort. While he did not stop me (I was going easy), I am sure he ran my plate, and ascertained there was limited value in harassing an old man.
