Help!?! I just bought a 50cc last week and suddenly today i felt a knocking in my front tire area. After taking a close look, it seems that my front brake disc is now warped? Anyone else had this happen?? Look at how your pads ride on the disc...do they touch at the top and bottom?...now rotate the wheel and look again. if you still see a tiny gap at the top or bottom..disc most likely is not bent. Some disk brakes have a double piston caliper set...and many times on of the pistons retracts slightly due to air in the system. Therefore the pads are not riding flush and snug against the disk as one piston is retracted a tad bit....causing the edge of the pad to make a grinding noise. When I encounter this at my shop...I bleed the system. Which only works about half the time because some calipers are poorly made and not concentric. So for the pad with the small gap in it...I use a brake shim behind it so the pad makes full contact. First time I encountered it..I thought the disc was warped too. But upon closer inspection found one edge of the pad not touching flush as it should. added a shim and it went away. If this is confusing or makes no sense..let me know and I will try to explain it better. But first..look at your pads too make sure you have no tiny gap on one side...top or bottom...and let us know..

i would tighten your bolts holding the disk to the rim they come lose or lose from factory and seem they are warp but aren't

Thanks everyone for your input. I checked the bolts and they are all tight. It seems more like the disc is "catching" on something. The wheel rotates fine to a certain point then seems to stick for about an 1/8 of a rotation and then spins fine again until it hits that point. I thought maybe the bolts were catching, but they are all tight and flush. Any other ideas?

Sounds like a warped disc. Probably replacement is the best option. Somebody on this forum may have a used one they might be willing to sell you at a good price.
