Sadly, I found it. The gasket is blown out in the lower back corner where the case meets the block head. ANyone want to give me some insight on where to get the gasket, and the procedure for replacing it?

OH MAN! You beat me by 4 minutes. That's the Cam chain tensioner. It pushes down on the cam chain guide. It's spring loaded and has a ratchet type mechanism inside it. It must have a bad gasket. To reinstall it you retract the plunger and then after it's on the engine install the spring and center cap. EDIT: Go to the auto parts store, buy some gasket material. Remove the old gasket and trace it out onto the material and cut it out with a sharp utility blade. I use a hole punch for the bolt holes

I REALLY wish it WAS that comp gasket now because I have to take the entire top of the engine down to get to the cylinder base gasket where it meets the case. Uhg......... OH and I have to buy a complete gasket set because the gaskets all the way up will need to be replaced as it comes apart. Meh..............

I bought the universal 4 piece gasket material. Should I use the Cork rubber, Fiber rubber, or cellulose rubber?

You do good work. Interesting that the valve cover also holds the rockers and holds down half the cam. There must be two access ports on the top of the valve cover for adjusting them correct?

Fox, here's the valve adjustments. Pretty cool setup. Also, done. First pic is comp plate and cyl head with fresh goo. Exhaust port side.

Nice going! Never seen adjusters like that before. Why order, over-pay and wait for gaskets when you can make 'em?

Yeah getting it all done in one day for $6 is a winner. Can you imagine what a shop would charge to do that top end job? Yikes.
