Hey i'm new here but have been browsing for a few days. This isn't my scooter as i've had two other honda sprees and elites but they were 2 strokes! i'm new to 4 stroke engines and am looking for for easy upgrades to make this accelerate better! [/IMG] i know i need a performance cdi as my stock one is limited to 6k rpms. Also i took my variator out and cleaned all the belt debris from the cover and roller weights. Stock rollers are 6g in weight. Should i buy 4g rollers or sliders or 5g? I'll probably buy a new belt also because there is a small tear on it. Anyway i'm gonna slowly upgrade to a bbk maybe 100cc (83cc) later but i'm not sure about the clutch spring and torque spring rpm? Oh, it seems like my scooter didn't have a restricted washer in vari and i wanted more than 6k rpms so i cut the pink wire in my cdi and it wouldn't start so now i gotta re-solder it back. [/IMG] Any suggestions about fully de-restricting and better accerlation? thanks in advance

Ok Also is there a way to fix the speedo cable? My speedo works sometimes but not always. As far as acceleration i can go maybe 25mph steep hills, is that considered good or is there a way i can go 35mph uphills? thanks

Make sure the speedo cable is installed snug on both ends. If you take the gauges out to check the cable on that side, spin the front wheel and make sure the inside of the cable is moving as the wheel moves. If it's not, or if you don't see anything obvious, sometimes the prongs inside the sender on the wheel get bent enough that they don't catch how they should and it can cause false or intermittent readings or for the speedo not to work at all.
25MPH uphill sounds good to me, especially since you are rev limited too. Sounds like you know what needs to be done. When you buy a CDI, I wouldn't suggest spending a lot of money on one. They are hit or miss as far as if they change base timing or the timing curve. You can probably get a generic stock style replacement from PFS or ScrappyDogScooters or wherever is cheap as long as there's no rev limiter built in. I don't even think I'd bother tuning the CVT till a new CDI is installed with no limit. Big bore kits are you best bet for a bigger upgrade. You'll get a power increase throughout the entire RPM range and it'll definitely pull you up hills easier.

Hi I happen to like a stock airbox over a free flow even with a BBK, free flow filters leave you at the mercy of the elements and i like too ride even in the rain dirt and dust and those types are not for me at least. I would leave it stock unless you need the extra airflow to perform well with the mods you install. do it as a last resort Take care and ride safely Yours Hank
